DAYS 1-5 (JUNE 15-19)
High pressure will continue to dominate the weather through the next 5 days during which time we will see a transition from cool easterly air flow to warm and more humid southerly air flow. By late week, areas away from the coast will be feeling the heat of summer, while temperature remain more modified along the shoreline.
TODAY: Low clouds in much of the region and patchy fog near the coast into mid morning then becoming sunny. Highs 65-70 coast, 70-75 inland. Wind E 5-10 MPH inland, 10-15 MPH coast.
TONIGHT: Clear except patchy ground fog interior lower elevations. Lows 48-55. Wind E under 10 MPH.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 68-75, coolest coast. Wind E up to 10 MPH.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 50-57. Wind SE under 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 68-75 coast, 75-82 inland. Wind SE up to 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 55-62. Wind SE-S under 10 MPH.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. More humid. Highs 75-82 coast, 83-90 inland. Wind S 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Humid. Lows 60-67. Wind S up to 10 MPH.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 78-85 coast, 85-92 inland. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
DAYS 6-10 (JUNE 20-24)
Higher humidity, southerly air flow, and a risk of isolated showers / t-storms June 20. Watching for a potential back-door cold front that could make it considerably cooler and potentially mostly cloudy as well for June 21. Warming back up with a risk of showers / t-storms from approaching front June 22. That front may provide a rare risk for a period of rain from late June 23 into June 24. Low confidence forecast at this time.
DAYS 11-15 (JUNE 25-29)
A more zonal (west to east) flow is expected with variable but overall seasonably warm weather but limit opportunities for any shower activity as the overall pattern continues dry.

That is the SAK Weekly!
Good morning and thank you TK.
Still loving this format.
Looking to keep the HHH away as long as possible.
Did you and Mrs OS decide to use window ACs?
we have NOT installed them.
Thanks TK.
Thanks, TK. Also like this format.
Thanks TK !
Like the format too.
Boston is the new St. John’s, Newfoundland. Wow! Had windows open all night, and it felt really cool this morning. Almost October-like.
Vicki, you’re absolutely right about June being cool AND rainy sometimes. It’s the fact that it’s sunny and cool during a stretch that includes the longest days that’s really surprising. Pleasantly, for me. I do realize some love the heat and humidity. That will come, I’m sure. Another 85 days or so during which that’s a distinct possibility on any given day.
Agree. Meant to stress that but knowing me I probably didn’t. To me this is top ten weather.
Still liking this format, but NOT liking the first 90 for most for the upcoming weekend. It always has to come sooner or later I guess.
I would be curious as to the average date for the first 90F at Logan compared to the western suburbs. Is it in May or June?
It’s actually not as much of a difference as you’d think. There’s also a lot of variation, as some places have data going back a lot longer than others. A sampling of cities around the region with at least 60+ years of data:
Reading – May 31
Brockton – June 3
Nashua – June 3
Lowell – June 4
Boston – June 8
Providence – June 10
Blue Hill – June 15
Thanks SAK!
Just watched an interesting movie entitled Cosmos
It is fascinating, albeit a bit slow at times. It is available on
Amazon Prime and Hulu.
Here is a bit of info.

Forgot to say, thank you, TK!
Brutal sea breeze at Logan. Nearly Noon and ONLY 63.
BRRRRRRRR!!!!
A seabreeze implies that it’s localized to the coast. Given that it’s only 64 on top of Blue Hill and 66 in Worcester, this is a general east to northeast flow. Most of the region is 62-72 right now.
Certainly not a setup for a 1983 repeat that’s for sure…thankfully.
Yes, that is true. I simply meant that it was ridiculously cool
for June 15th. And the breeze is still off of the ocean, even if not a true sea breeze.
I visited with my oldest and her two early afternoon. Both girls commented that it smelled liked the ocean. Seems your sea breeze is bringing the ocean to us.
Very glad you are back Sak
Our resident black bear is now a little more than a mile away.
Thank you, TK.
Format is nice.
We’re having a heat wave at Logan.
It’s all the way up to 64! Beach anyone? How about a nice
swim?
Btw, I am loving it some 5 or 6 mile away where my equipment is reading 73, but it is in full sun and since it does not have the
proper radiation shielding, the true temp here is probably more
like 69 or 70. Much better than 64 and frankly, absolutely
beautiful here. Norwood is 72, so I think 69 or 70 here is right on target.
Nice general NE to E flow today, as expected. Keeping temps modified nicely through the region, more noticeable along the coast of course due to the chilly ocean water. This is the coolest day of the 5-day “work week”, no doubt.
For the baseball fans out there Rob Manfred last Wednesday says 100 % there will be a baseball season. Today he says he is not confident there will be a 2020 baseball season. Unfortunately Manfred goes on to say I can’t tell you I am 100 % certain that is going to happen.
I don’t expect it to happen. All parties involved are greedy & selfish. NHL is really the only major sport to know how to get this stuff done with minimal issues. Baseball, by far, is the worst of the lot. Don’t think I’ll pay attention to the season if there is one. They lost me.
AP Sports just tweeted out
MLB tells union it won’t start the season unless players waive claims that MLB violated March agreement
And this illustrates TKs point
Maybe golf isn’t a major sport. I always thought it should be as it sets an example far better than other sports.
I enjoyed watching live golf this weekend for the first time since early March. It was a great tournament that was decided in a playoff with Daniel Berger winning. All of Daniel Berger’s three wins on the PGA Tour have come on the second weekend of June.
As far as baseball don’t they see they are ticking off fans and potentially losing fans and fighting over money during a pandemic and a lot of people who lost their jobs???
Baseball players are not what they once were. And it is sad. Money is the focus before all else.
That said, I was looking forward to seeing Blaze Jordon play
Longer range pattern is starting to look pretty toasty. We should have a couple more cooler days next week behind a front, but on the whole we’re trending warmer. We may still dodge the excessive humidity more often than not going forward though, as we remain drier than average.
Re baseball – I see this as totally on the owners. Two select comments:
“Basically, the union has said that they’ll let Manfred unilaterally impose a 50-some game season, but that they’ll file a grievance against the league saying they didn’t negotiate in good faith and try to sue the league for more money. MLB is now saying that unless they sign an agreement not to file that grievance they’ll just cancel the season.”
Also: “Don’t let MLB owners cry poor. They can afford to do what’s right for game. Value of the AVERAGE team has gone UP by >$1-BILLION in just the last SIX years! But MLB refuses to close a ~$25-milion-a-club gap to meet players at 81 g? That’s a crime.”
(Source of second quote: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/06/15/dont-let-mlb-owners-cry-poor-they-can-afford-do-whats-right-baseball/ )
The billionaires are doing a decent job getting the public to blame the “greedy” players – but it’s the billionaires that are to fault here in my mind.
So I definitely stand corrected…I should have said baseball is not what it was. Owners and players. Thanks for info on owners. I lost respect for players when they started asking for money for autographs so that ship did said a while ago. Although owners have always had issues….way back to not allowing the black league to participate.
I fully admit that I have no clue what has happened in recent years, so thank you for the information above
If there arguing now what is going to happen when the CBA expires December 2021? If it is this bad for this I could see a strike or a lock out when the CBA expires.

Real sport is hockey & football period !!! Bunch of greedy wimps playing pro ball .
Ummmmm I’m sure you forgot golf by accident eh?
It is bad look for baseball when all the other sports have restarted or have a restart plan in place and they are the only sport not to have a restart plan.
Baseball can’t be compared to nascar or golf. Compare it to football and basketball – I will be surprised if any of these big team sports 1) get a season going (or continued) and 2) don’t get shut down prematurely in the middle of returning. But we are veering into covid-19 nonweather post territory. lol.
