Political debates in this country have become so ideological that the two sides involved – whether Covid-19, immigration, or abortion – talk past and not to each other. It’s s shame. Pragmatic politics and factual discussions are much preferred, in my view. In the coming days, I imagine the numbers of cases will zoom up yet again after a holiday weekend. It’s just natural for get-togethers for the holidays and there’s really not much local or health officials can do about it to realistically prevent them.
Thanksgiving will likely be the next holiday to be watched, especially with college students going home for the 4 day break, in some cases spreading the virus to their families. It will be interesting how much traveling overall will be done, or if many folks will just stay home. My bet is it won’t be anywhere near normal, including Christmas as well.
A very different 2020 holiday season ahead I fear.

I think the folks that love tradition yet have sense will find a way to enjoy the holidays safely.
It will be interesting how the virus reacts to indoor gatherings. I suspect the traditional office holiday parties will not be happening much this year, certainly not at any restaurants or hotels.
There was an interesting article in Sunday’s Boston Herald regarding school bus drivers. Many are concerned about having the responsibility of flagging sick students at boarding as well as contracting the virus itself.
1 in 5 Massachusetts restaurants have closed permanently.
C-19 for 9-8 ready…
