DAYS 1-5 (SEPTEMBER 13-17)
Discussion…
A southerly air flow is sending increased low level moisture into the region today, and has been evident by an abundance of low clouds this morning. However, these clouds have come with enough spaces between to make it a partly sunny morning, which is exactly the wording used in today’s forecast from yesterday’s blog, and this will continue this afternoon as well, though the amount of cloud cover may vary from place to place. This more humid southerly flow is taking place in advance of a cold front, which is going to cross the region tonight with a band of heavier cloudiness but little in the way of any rainfall. Behind the front, it will take a little bit of time for the cooler air to arrive, waiting for a secondary trough Monday evening, so Monday itself will turn out to be a warmer day than today for many areas. You’ll notice a definite feel of fall Tuesday, even though it’s still technically summer. And that more summertime feel will be making a return during the middle of the week as high pressure sinks south of the region and we get into a warmer west to southwesterly air flow.

DAYS 6-10 (SEPTEMBER 18-22)
A cold front passes by early September 18 followed by a push of drier air. Remnant moisture from a Gulf of Mexico tropical system will be passing by south of the region around September 19 so that will be something to watch, just in case it ends up a little further north and threatens the region with some unsettled weather, but at the moment I expect a miss and dry weather to dominate for the balance of this time period. Temperatures for the entire period averaging near to above normal but a cooler interlude around mid period.
DAYS 11-15 (SEPTEMBER 23-27)
Watching the September 24-26 window for possible rainfall that may be potentially associated with some moisture from the tropics. Far from anything certain. Just a period to watch.
God afternoon and thank you TK.
Beautiful day it is!
Thank you. Spectacular day.
So odd seeing Cam Newton. I wish him well. I can’t imagine anyone having to fill Brady’s shoes
He’s doing a good job with 2 rushing touchdowns & decent numbers .
I’m beyond excited for the Tampa game as I bet the ratings will be off the charts .
Will be watching tom 🙁
Agree.
With all that is going on, I CANNOT get into any football.
personally, I don’t think they should be playing. it’s all about
the $$$$$
There haven’t been any significant Covid cases in any of the training camps so I think they’ll be ok for the season. Besides, we all can use a diversion from the disease and politics even for just a few hours a week. 🙂
If you need it fine. I am simply saying it is NOT for me at this time. I have no use for it whatsoever. I can’t even begin to get interested. Not even close.
I understand JPD, but am also happy for a diversion.
I didn’t even know they were playing till last night. I didn’t think they were. I’m inclined to agree but I don’t have numbers on spread from sports games to areas outside of the sports community. Joshua May know
I am excited about football season. It gives us sports and after watching today’s game I am even more excited. I know its a dolphins game at home but I saw a lot of positive. I hope cam learns to let just throw the ball away in situations that warrant it and does not take unnecessary big hits. I would also like harry to hold onto the darn Ball. Patriots very much could do better than current predictions.
I had 3 hours of outside work scheduled (on purpose) to coincide with the Pats. I typically do this because I don’t really need to watch the game. I can listen to it and enjoy it just as much, and get a bunch of work done in the process.
I understand the various feelings on sports right now, but provided the leagues are doing it safely, I’m good with it, and I think for a lot of people a little normalcy to escape to is a good thing right now. It doesn’t work for everybody, but for those that it does work for, it’s a good option to have.
As far as the weather goes, never had to really adjust the overall idea about today’s weather from several days ago. The idea was to stay away from those very wet forecasts and go mainly dry, with a later shower threat (as in Sunday night). The method is called “anticipated model error”. Or the stupid little nickname I have for it is “Take A.M.E.” 😛 … Sometimes it misses, but it works a fair amount of the time I’ve found.
I’ll be anticipating some more model errors before my next blog update. Hope everybody has a great rest-of-the-day.
I’m thinking of my dad a lot today. He left this world 5 years ago this day (around 8PM). We knew it was coming, even for several days before. When he went to the hospital on Sep 8 2015 I knew in my heart he probably wasn’t coming home again. But I am very grateful for the care he received in his final days. He was kept very comfortable and was not suffering any pain when he passed. I had planned to bring some music to him that evening as I had to take care of some things at home before I went back to the hospital, but he didn’t make it that long. I listen to the songs I was going to bring in for him every Sep 13 in the evening, and I will be doing that tonight. Doesn’t seem like 5 years already, and you don’t hear me say the “it doesn’t seem” thing very often – but in this case it feels much more recent to me. Mom and I did bring some nice late summer / early autumn flowers to his resting place today and I did a little maintenance around the area. I could never be as good as my dad was at “yard work” and landscaping, but I think we did ok. 😉
I’m thinking of,your dad also. I thought I might have been wrong when I posted on yesterday’s blog this morning. Love and hugs to you
I like listening to the game also. I often would put on headphones linked to tv and do whatever needed doing. But the ones I had DONT work with new tv. My AirPods do but the volume isn’t loud enough. I missed having that option today
Anyone need sennheiser headphones 🙂
I somehow missed that post. I was out so much yesterday I hardly looked at the blog.
Thank you!
Hugs 🙂
Sports is a nice diversion. I think all the leagues have done incredibly well. The athletes get a lot of grief for their conduct at times. They’re mostly been pillars of good behavior when it comes to the spread of coronavirus.
It’s Week 1, so one can’t glean a lot from this week’s play. But, I followed TB a bit last year. They were mostly dysfunctional. That hasn’t changed much. Tampa Bay is not a good team. They’re also in a very tough division. I don’t understand pundits who think/thought they were a Superbowl contender. Fair to mediocre defense, mediocre coaching (Brady’s going to miss BB), atrocious special teams, and an offense that’s imbalanced. Brady’s fit and made a few good passes, but also some very bad ones. He’s looking his age in terms of hand-eye coordination and mobility. I saw similar things last year. I think the Patriots made the right decision. Newton isn’t Brady, but he’s a good transitional piece. And with the extra dollars they can put together a good squad. Look for the Pats to make some moves this season to bolster the team.
TB refers to Tampa Bay, not Tom Brady! I certainly don’t think Brady is dysfunctional.
Thank for info on how teams are Doing handling virus. Far too often sports figures end up being punching bags. It is really sad. They are not perfect. But then I think it is safe to say that none of us are
I’m no expert but using common sense, I’d have never put Tampa Bay as a super bowl contender just because TB12 joined the team. I respect Tom’s decision, but I can’t help thinking he may regret it to some degree before this season ends. We’ll see. Either way, respect for the decision and to Tom himself. I’m not going to be one of those people posting on social media “TB12 is a traitor!” or “I’m loving the fact they’re getting their butts whooped!” … Whatever. 🙂 I wish Brady good luck no matter who he plays for. I’ll root against him if it’s in the process of rooting for a team I want to win any particular game. 🙂 Otherwise I don’t really care what happens. Go Pats and whatever happens happens.
Yeah Brady got it handed to him today . Brady is playing in a tough division but I think he will do great . Round # 1 coach BB vs TB goes to coach BB easily – stay tuned .
On the eve of many schools starting, I’d like to send my distanced support to teachers, parents and students. It will take time. You are all building the ship together. You are all amazing
Good day as a Patriots fan. Just based on this game, I liked what I saw. I also wonder if Brady is going to regret not staying with the Pats. I of course hope Brady ends up doing well but not at the expense of the Patriots.
Sorry. I’m focused on schools. Someone posted this and boy do I think it says it all. ….Tom, Captain, OS for your daughter, moms and dads.

Dry air being ingested by that system is making it less potent than it would have been. This is happening with so many systems this season.
New weather post!
