The University of Rhode Island has jozoned a growing number of U.S. colleges canceling spring break (2021) to reduce travel and prevent the spread of the coronavirus. University officials announced the measure Friday, OKd by the Faculty Senate and university President David Dooley. Classes will continue from March 22-28, the period originally set aside as spring break, and the semester will end on April 27, a week earlier than initially planned.

There will be NO bubble for the NHL 2020-21 season. It seems the players have had enough of that.
No decision on having fans returning as of yet.
I wonder if the NBA will do likewise?
Joshua, how come the Kansas City Chiefs are able to have spectators?
I noticed that Notre Dame has spectators at their home game as well.
Each state – and sometimes each county or municipality – has different rules in place. Gillette Stadium cannot have fans until Governor Baker gives the Patriots the okay. Most states currently have such rules in place. But, some states (usually conservative) allow for fans. This includes Missouri and Indiana. Rules are, however, in place that limit crowd size, enforce physical distancing and mask-wearing.
While the colleges in Massachusetts appear to be doing a decent job, certainly compared to, say, Providence College, overall the state is not faring as well. Today’s numbers were not good. They reflect a trend in the Northeast, including New York. It’s not alarming yet, but it may head in that direction soon.
450 positive cases in MA today. Week over week we are up over 20%. 4.4% test positivity, which we haven’t seen since May.
Test positivity is a VERY important indicator. It’s up to 3% in NYC, 7.4% in the Netherlands, over 20% in Idaho and North Dakota. NYC’s rate was below 1% from June through August, as was the rate in the Netherlands. Massachusetts was mostly between 1 and 2%.
C-19 for 9-30 is ready.
