  1. It suddenly occurred to me if the folks in those long lines for early voting are contributing in a minor way to the increase of cases, especially those states that don’t insist on wearing masks. Poll workers especially.

What are your thoughts on that, Joshua?

    1. Certainly possible, though most of the waiting is done outdoors and there appears to be distancing.

My latest is on the dismal trend in life expectancy in the U.S. This is an ongoing phenomenon that goes back several decades. It’s disconcerting to say the least, especially given how much is spent on healthcare in the U.S. The negative trend will likely take a further hit this year due to Covid-19. https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2020/11/01/dismal-us-life-expectancy-trend-reflects-disconnect-between-dollars-spent-on-healthcare-and-value-produced/

      1. Thanks Joshua. Good points in your article.

Food for thought: The life expectancy in 1900 was 45 so I highly doubt we will reach anywhere near those levels ever again. Once we totally wipe out Covid-19, I would assume the levels go back in a more positive direction again. Maybe several years for the actual data to show?

My immediate concern is for poll workers inside all day, especially those states without mask mandates.
