New daily cases are still very high nationwide, deaths, too, but hospitalizations are coming down ever so slightly. This must be related to vaccinations. Let’s hope this trend continues.
Hospitalizations continue to drop gradually. Must be related to vaccinations, as cases are barely dropping. Deaths still very high today, but that is a lagging indicator. Because UK hospitalizations are still rising fast and it’s vaccinating a relatively higher proportion of people than we are, I think the UK variant is more severe. There’s no other explanation.
Many states are dealing with vaccine shortages, due to the Trump administration.
For that alone he and anyone else should be found criminally negligent.
This is a really bad issue. We’re vaccinating at a good clip right now. But shortages will be an issue starting next week. Just when we begin to sort of get a grip on things, we lose momentum.
On another note, I’m glad I saw my daughter Lisa at Christmas. Looks like UK is now going to enforce a mandatory 14-day hotel quarantine – government-approved hotels – for all international visitors. Hopefully this will not be a policy for a long period of time. I’m planning a May visit. But for now it’s basically impossible for me to visit. I can’t cough up that kind of money and stay away from home for so long. I feel more cut off this year than I did last. I know that things will get better. Well, I hope so …
They will , Hang in there .
So so tragic. And so many impacted. My NYC friend from Sweden attended her dads memorial yesterday via zoom as of course she cannot go to Sweden. Even in Sweden only 20 of her relatives were able to be present. I am very happy you got to see your daughter during the Christmas holidays.
C-19 for 1-17 is ready.
