I just had my second moderna shot . It’s 50/50 if I’ll get sick . Most guys I work with have been sick .
Awesome SsK. It sucks but is supposed to be a good sign.
I think I may be having some minor affects ( I stress minor as of now ) around 5pm I’m feeling some aches & slightly chilled with a small headache. I will go as long as I can without taking Tylenol. We are told if we have reactions to stay home & the hospital will pay you for the absence. All the guys in my shop had reactions all what I described above and ranged from 1-2 days out . They say those reactions are a good thing but if you have 0 reactions that’s fine as well .
Feel better and yes all is a good thing
Mark….how is your family?
Take care, SSK. Glad you had the 2nd shot. In a couple of weeks you’ll be VERY well protected. Certainly protected against severe disease and any complications.
New daily cases are tumbling in the last 3 days, which is good news. Below 100k yesterday (Sunday) for first time in 3 months. Caveat, snow in the Northeast slowed both testing and vaccinations. That will be a theme this week. And, it’s a theme throughout Europe. Extreme cold may also be a factor, as it will limit visits to testing and vaccination sites here and in Europe.
Hospitalizations are down, but the decrease is not nearly as steep as the case decline. Deaths are flat. Still averaging 3k deaths per day. That’s not good. I do expect that number to decrease by the end of this week. I certainly hope it will.
We lost another Congressman today to Covid. He was 67. This is the second Congressman we’ve lost in 1 month. The other was 45.
Need to monitor new variants closely. Brazil variant has only cropped up a couple of times thus far in the U.S. This is good news.
South Africa variant is appearing in a number of states. Still a relatively low number, but we don’t test for it often. Worried about this variant, as it has an escape mutation.
UK variant is doubling every 9 days in the U.S. Worry about this one, too. But, it is not as evasive as the South Africa variant.
We are good Vicki, thanks for asking. My test Friday and both of my kids tests came back negative. We all get tested again today. Cait is still feeling run down with an intermittent headache but everyone else is feeling pretty good.
Hang in there
Thanks John.
C-19 for 2-9 is ready.
