Expect this current pandemic to last 2 years as well…easily. (2020-2022)
And that red wine works wonders. 🙂
I got my first Pfizer Covid shot yesterday. Last night my arm felt like I hit it with a darn hammer. Its still sore today but that was the only side effect I have felt.
also when I saw the information packet, it said it only provides a 3 month period of protection after 2 weeks of getting the 2nd dose. They have to do better than that. I ain’t gonna do this every 3 dam months. I am starting to get ticked off with how this is going by this rate, we will never get back to normal.
Glad to know you got your 1st dose.
We will get back to normal, but it’ll take a little longer. I don’t think you’ll need boosters every 3 months. Initially, every 6-12 months, depending on the data. After that, with effective herd immunity, hopefully the virus will burn itself out and we may not need boosters.
Best news of the day is that the vaccines are working against the B117 variant. We’re not sure about the other variants, but in Israel recent data suggest the vaccines do a good job against the B117 variant (which is dominant there). Note, the vaccines are not 95% efficacious in Isreal. In fact, it’s more like 70%. But, I’ll take that, especially against a mutant version.
In the U.S. hospitalizations continue to drop, which is really good news. Cases decreased significantly during the weekend, but have since edged up a bit. Not concerning (yet) if it doesn’t impact hospitalizations. ICU usage is down, but less than the decrease in hospitalizations. And deaths are down, but the slope is less steep than all the other slopes. It’s actually rather flat as we still have about 3k recorded deaths every day (we’re closing in on 500k as a nationwide total by the end of next week). The daily death toll should decrease significantly over time if the other numbers continue to improve.
C-19 for 2-12 is ready.
