I would be down for that for the next couple of years and then have it re-evaluated.
I would also be down to them having a way for people to prove vaccination to restraunts/bars/clubs/movie theaters, sport arenas etc for the next year or two and then have it reevaluated as well.
I had Pfizer dose #2 on Tuesday. Felt pretty good most of Tuesday, a little tired by the end of the day. Woke up yesterday feeling very “out of it” and with a headache, but took a couple Tylenol and by mid afternoon yesterday felt totally normal. This is pretty consistent with what others have reported. A small price to pay!
So happy your side effects were not worse. And very glad you have had both.
yeah I was told 24- 48 hours after getting the second shot. My arm still feels sore but other than that been good. We need to get these vaccines to a point that these side effects are not as pronounced as it does kind of limit people for up to two days after the vaccine.
Anyway by the end of this week the two labs I am part of all but 1 person will be fully vaccinated which is going to greatly open up our research capabilities over the next few weeks. Lets just say we can’t wait. 🙂
We also can not wait to be able to go to the beach and not be fearful when I am not wearing a mask. 🙂
also my mom is getting her first dose on the 18th.
I can not wait for when my family is vaccinated. Originally they were talking about vaccinating the immediate family of healthcare workers but that didn’t happen. Lets just say my mom had vaccine envy.
Good to hear WxWatcher and Matt. You’re both fully vaccinated.
I need to wait at least another 5 weeks or so. As soon as my group is on the website – April – I’ll be in the virtual waiting room.
I must say at this point I feel terribly for Italy. Its caseload and hospitalizations are soaring once again. Can’t catch a break. This should also tell us all we need to know about the ill-advised recommendations of Scott Atlas regarding natural herd immunity. The Czech Republic is once again in a state of crisis (healthcare system is overburdened), as is Hungary. France isn’t doing well either, but the outbreaks there have tended to be localized.
It’s next to impossible in the U.S. to do proper, granulated data analysis on Covid-19 given the discrepancies in state reporting. We need a central data repository like virtually all other nations have, and data uploads need to be mandatory on a daily basis. Exhibit A is Ohio this week. Hasn’t reported a single death in 5 days, yet is reporting ~2,000 cases a day. Believe me, deaths are happening in Ohio. Ohioans haven’t found an elixir for Covid-19. And soon we’ll know with a data dump next week which then becomes an outlier. Then you have states that simply don’t report at all on weekends or even random weekdays. Why have a public health department if you’re not going to tabulate deaths. And I’m not just concerned with Covid-19. Other deaths, too.
How does Biden and team not know this? Or are they working toward it
I’m sure they’re aware, but our federalist structure will prevent meaningful reform, at least in the foreseeable future.
By the way, I didn’t like Biden’s “Neanderthal” reference in response to Governor Abbott’s opening up (100%) of Texas. While I don’t think 100% reopening is prudent at this time when so many aren’t vaccinated yet, I don’t like insults. I say this also because Governor Lamont of Connecticut essentially did the same thing as Abbott, and we hear nothing from the White House. Yes, there’s still a mask mandate. But please, people, masks are not panaceas. If anything there much less effective at curbing spread than capacity limits in bars, nightclubs, restaurants, offices, etc … I’m not happy with Biden. But then again, I’m almost never happy with any politician. I’m looking forward to the day this country elects a non-partisan independent, someone like Angus King of Maine.
I hear you. But not sure I agree. And I have no problem faulting Biden for his school mandate and $$ amounts in his stimulus plan. Because of his school push, Many seniors who absolutely need to be vaccinated won’t get the vaccine. Lamont …unless I missed it….has not denigrated Biden
Abbott has denigrated Biden at every turn as well as anyone left of far right. Yesterday I mentioned the large number of positives in TX to some friends. The response was the positives are because Biden is releasing undocumented folks with covid into TX. This is what abbot is selling his base. It is no different from his abysmal failure with regard to the power outages
Yes, Biden should rise above. For the most part, he has. But there is only so much a person can take
Do I think CT and MA and others are moving too quickly? Of course. But I’m in good company. Fauci and other experts do also.
I hear you as well, Vicki. I’m certainly not pleased with Abbott. I also don’t understand his decisions and his extreme positions.
🙂
Just a lousy time. We should all be working together. So far the far left…which worries me…is playing Nice. It remains to be seen whether that will continue. The right…which is not the Republican Party…may well the end of our grand experiment
C-19 for 3-5 is ready.

I’m in favor of the vaccine passport as a way to facilitate international travel. But, it raises issues with respect to global inequities. https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2021/03/04/vaccine-passports-could-exacerbate-global-inequities/?sh=1e1bcab57874
