Amazing how not only masks and distancing but staying home when Ill works.
I received Pfizer shot #2 this morning. No side effects so far. Fingers crossed.
Good, Philip.
Thanks Joshua. When is your #2 shot?
May 3rd. 3rd shot November 3rd; 4th shot May 3, 2022; 5th shot Nov 3, 2022; and so on and so forth, until I’m a pin cushion.
If you are going to have the, I would expect you’d start to see them overnight tonight or tomorrow am.
Agree. My family has reacted overnight and next day. Then there is this odd duck who was a bit tired with a sore arm on day one and on second night was chilled (not chills) with a 101.6 fever. By day 3, I was just tired. It was Easter weekend and we planned for everyone else to do Easter prep 🙂 🙂 🙂
The U.S. is waging a relatively successful battle against Covid. The UK and Israel are even more successful. Yet, we can’t let down our guard, at least not to the degree some have suggested we do. My hope is that the vaccines will continue to be effective against new variants. We know the vaccines are effective against B.1.1.7 and also the NYC variant (can’t recall the number). There appears to be efficacy against the South African variant (though less with the non-mRNA vaccines), and a less efficacy against P.1. We’re unsure about the double mutation variant from India. I’m still very concerned about the latter two variants.
And last I heard we were unsure about CA double variant.
Baker sounded as if he is not in a rush to lift masks.
Pet peeve. I have nothing against Greta Thunberg (Swedish climate activist). But I find it odd that she gets to fly to the U.S. (she’s testifying in Congress), as do professional athletes, and certain business people and investors, while my son’s mother cannot visit her son in the U.S. There’s something wrong about this policy. Exceptions should be made for close family. Obviously with protocols in place for testing and quarantine. My son is going through a rough patch. He needs to see his mother. But our government won’t budge at all. Nor will European governments.
Oh wow. I sure do agree with that. We have far too many options to be able to testify remotely. Absolutely no excuse for either country
Vicki, I may be wrong about Thunberg being here. I saw several headlines that she testified in Congress (one even said Capitol Hill), but the only images I’ve seen appear to be a testimony given remotely. I apologize for jumping the gun on this.
Globally, the pandemic is picking up steam. https://twitter.com/Laurie_Garrett/status/1384869565558034432/photo/1
As states begin to end mandatory mask requirements.

My latest Forbes piece is on the Indian Covid-19 crisis. It is a humanitarian crisis, and one which Western nations could do more to assist. Ultimately, the word pandemic implies no-one is safe until we are all safe. Even if we’re doing better than we were, we don’t want to live in a bubble, oblivious to what’s transpiring outside our borders. We’re an interdependent globe. https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2021/04/22/india-is-experiencing-a-devastating-wave-of-covid-19-impact-to-reverberate-around-the-world/?sh=54827a2629dd
C-19 for 4-23 is ready.
