Thank you, TK, for providing this page so we can keep up on and discuss new covid developments. I don’t believe when you started offering this that anyone believed it would still be needed.
I think like a lot of us I was thinking “a few months” … Perhaps a combination of “mass denial” (we just didn’t want to believe it can be that bad or that long) and inexperience lead many of us to want to believe this, even though some of us knew the potential, and eventual certainty, that it was going to be more than “just a few months”. My current aim is to keep this page daily until the pandemic is declared over.
I think you are right. I may be wrong but think the vast majority would have thought the idea we’d still be here a year later was ludicrous
Interesting article about the oxygen supply in the world
Thanks Joshua. Very encouraging on herd immunity. Recently I have been hearing and reading from experts that herd immunity is going to be near impossible, if at all. Hope we get there eventually.
Excellent article. Thank you for sharing
Another interesting article. It discusses vaccine hesitancy in the past.
I partly disagree with this comment…… “ Why the difference? One reason, historians say, is that in 1955, many Americans had an especially deep respect for science.”
I’d replace science with government and science. The first is undermining the respect for the second.
Thanks Vicki. Perhaps today’s celebrities could step up and promote Covid-19 vaccines to cut into this vaccine hesitancy, from the RED states in particular.
1955 was a different time, no doubt.
Many on the ultra right have decided celebrities for the most part are liberal and therefore don’t know anything.
Good point Vicki. I forgot about that, much of Hollywood is definitely liberal, if not extremely left.
What I find interesting though is that Trump got his vaccination as soon as he left office, but yet, his loyal followers refuse to take his lead in doing the same. Sad.
I’d like to know what I’m missing when they say younger folks are being infected because more older folks are vaccinated.
The virus doesn’t know age. It doesn’t know demographics. I’d agree that the virus is mutating and more contagious. I would not be surprised if getting more kids back in school at closer distances isn’t playing at least a part.
I read an article the other day that according to MIT researchers, social distancing means nothing, whether it’s 6 feet…or 60 feet. The virus transmits great distances. I’ll post more on that later.
Bottom line, we need to get school kids of ALL ages vaccinated over the summer so that in person learning can happen for the 2021-22 academic year once and for all. Trials are being done now for very young children.
I agree.
C-19 for 5-9 is ready.
