Yes, very sad. There may be more of those unless parents get vaccinated until the child’s vaccines come out early next year. Thanks for sharing.
What frosts my ass is that most everyone is going about their business as if there is NO pandemic at all. Most frustrating. My wife and I have been called “one of those” because we will not go out and do things.
Well, you and your wife don’t have to be cooped up in your house all day. You two can go out for brief walks without masks as long as there aren’t any huge crowds about. There’s also shopping as long as you wear masks. 🙂
And no, I don’t think that you are “one of those” whatever that means. 🙂
Wow. I cannot even tell you how much I agree with that statement.
Dr S. How are you feeling? I sure hope you are back to 100%
Concur with JPD. Don’t understand the anti-science attitude of some, or the cavalier approach of many. Public health is out of vogue. Yet, it has saved countless lives for decades. Many of our politicians are to blame, as they root out and discard public health officials they don’t like. https://twitter.com/syramadad/status/1436775546290065413
By the way, I’m posting the article below not so much for the content as to show you what I mean by Covid-19 signs and placards throughout Britain. You see digital signs, like the one below, above many roadways, but also non-digital signs (and banners of sorts) on sidewalks or sometimes on building facades telling you to vaccinate, wash your hands, distance, etc … I see almost none of that here. And I don’t know why that is. And, from what I can tell, it’s practically non-existent throughout the U.S. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/sep/10/boris-johnson-publish-covid-blueprint-difficult-winter?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
US is currently experiencing a slight decline in new hospital admissions per million. Any decrease is good news, though we’re still very close to 100k hospitalizations nationwide. I think the US pattern will more or less mimic the UK. We’ll see periodic (slight) declines and (slight) increases over time. I call this a plateau. It’s notable that across Europe the declines are much more noticeable and persistent. Better vaccination, better testing (diagnose early, rather than too late), more mitigation, and fewer underlying health conditions.
I heard on the radio news this morning that Chris Sale has tested positive for Covid-19. Sigh.
Btw, Red Sox have lost 4 of their last 5 games. 🙁
yes, he did

Interesting article of break throughs. Why I hadn’t seen this before, I do not know. And now it is a month later.

It is very worrisome because we are just not hearing a lot of this. I vote for just listening to Mrs OS going forward.
🙂
What has she been saying exactly?
Let me just say that she sees through the bullshit.
I agree. And I honestly cannot think of a time I have not agrees with anything Mrs OS says. We have yet to meet, but I have great respect for her.
She’s pretty special.
🙂
Moderna is developing a single dose combination Covid and flu vaccine.
Sad story out of Texas.
