Friday’s final tally for the nation: 97,680 cases; 2,091 deaths. While on the decline, the pandemic is still very much with us.
Steep ascent continues across a growing number of European countries (now includes Switzerland). Notably, in this Delta-fueled surge (perhaps enhanced by the AY. sub-lineages), hospitalizations are increasing, almost in parallel. That did not happen in July (was mostly a casedemic then in countries like the Netherlands). This suggests that the sub-groups being impacted are more vulnerable (older adults) than the ones this summer that were primarily impacted across Europe (young adults and children). May also indicate waning vaccine immunity.
Thanks Joshua. To your point, it seems some in health are getting frustrated by our after the fact approach
Anthony was a cousin of a guy I dated in high school. I love that commercial. Thanks, Joshua
Vicki, I’ve noted an increased CFR in India in recent weeks. Low numbers of cases still, which is good, but comparatively high numbers of deaths. Don’t know what to make of it. I do know that several Indian colleagues of mine are very concerned about a 3rd wave. And they keep mentioning AY. sub-lineages. We’ll have to wait and see.
How many “waves” is this planet going to have to go through???
Arrrrgggghhhh!!!
Absolutely agrees. We do have to watch. And we have to stop waiting as long as we have been.
I noticed that canned vegetables are disappearing from store shelves again. Must be Covid/supply I assume. Sigh.
Why is it that what few canned vegetables are still on shelf, there’s still plenty of “creamed” corn but none of the regular corn??? I couldn’t find any cans of carrots the other day.
I HATE creamed corn!!! YUCK! DISGUSTING!!!!
You and I agree 100% on the creamed corn. I can’s stand it either. Hard to find regular Del Monte canned corn sometimes.
The supply chain issues are global. I’m not here to defend our President’s economic policies. But, I do think A LOT of the criticism is unfair. Inflation is a worldwide phenomenon, as are shortages and supply chain issues. The world is interconnected. The situation in the U.S. is actually better than in many of our peer nations. You wouldn’t know that if you read the media reports.
I love creamed corn but can’t eat corn 🙁
I agree re President. Also he has one heck of a lot to deal with. The ultra left deciding it wants all at the risk of having none and the new right that has not one solution but is great at derailing
I always get frozen veggies. I don’t think there is a shortage there??
I think creamed corn is delicious! I haven’t had any trouble finding items, except, every now and again something strange. Like the other day, no soy sauce. How can there be a soy sauce shortage?
I saw some candy corn in the store today!
Oddly, I had trouble getting candy corn. My oldest granddaughter doesn’t like any other candy. I found it for mega dollars in a few places. I finally found some on Amazon and it came in pieces. It has to be Brachs of course 🙂 🙂 🙂
Prices can be nuts. I use All Free and Gentle laundry soap after I had whatever allergic reaction that lasted months a couple of years back. I put it in my cart on Amazon for 5.99. When I checked out, the total was 36.99. I thought I’d had something sitting in my cart. I tend to do that. Nope. The difference was $31 shipping.
C-19 for 10-31 is ready.
