Vicki, the data I provided on U.S. cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are from yesterday. Each number represents the day’s tally, with numbers in parentheses for hospitalizations/ICU representing increases in numbers hospitalized and in ICU. The 7-day average number of deaths – 1,312 – is much lower than yesterday’s death tally of 2,104. The 7-day average is calculated as the total numbers of deaths over a 7 day period divided by 7. Sunday and Monday tallies are low, because public health departments don’t report. But Wednesday to through Friday tallies are high, because most departments do report and they include backlogs from the days they didn’t report. I’ve included the data once again below:
– New cases: 152,672
– In hospital: 64,978 (+992)
– In ICU: 15,209 (+74)
– New deaths: 2,104
– 7-day average: 1,312
Thank you very much. Just mind boggling.
Thanks TK.
Was Omicron spread from an animal?
Good question, Philip. This is an interesting article on your question
Austria cases are plummeting: Exponential decline. Vaccination rates are soaring, as are boosters. Mandates do work. Caveat: Austrian population is obedient and rule-following. Plus, courts don’t get in the way of public health policy in the midst of a pandemic. https://twitter.com/LemieuxLGM/status/1469787631676317696
I unfollowed Denise Dewald. Who would ask this question now

Thanks Vicki. We will see what the “experts” say about that later.
Exactly 🙂
Excess mortality in the Netherlands (light blue bars) is approaching levels last seen in April 2020! https://twitter.com/Datagraver/status/1469080674095280129
I’m a bit color blind. The light blue bars may seem gray to most. I just don’t know. I can’t really tell the difference.
Just not good anywhere.
As an aside, I have always found the the name nether lands fascinating. No idea why though
Is there no end to this.

Everything you wanted to know, but were afraid to ask about boosting, Omicron, and spacing between doses of vaccine.
