The article doesn’t mention the fact that as a young graduate student in Hungary in the early 1980s she conceptualized therapeutic uses of mRNA. She was way ahead of everyone else. With meager means in then Communist Hungary she could not put her ideas into practice.
Thanks Joshua. The opening sentence as to how the two doctors met is hilarious. 🙂
Very sad though that her work today is being totally rejected by most “Conservatives” around the world.
Fascinating. And I agree with Philip….how they met is hilarious.
Very impressive! Practically flatlined since 2020. What’s Japan’s secret?
Extraordinarily disciplined people. This helps with everything associated with mitigation: From vaccinating and boosting the vulnerable first and making sure that ALL the vulnerable are vaccinated before moving on to the next group, to contact tracing and isolation (actually doing it, taking it really seriously), to distancing and masking.
Several folks have wisely called if collective will
I really do like some of the words/phrases that have come from this
The secret is their people can set aside personal differences of opinion and look at things collectively in a positive way, even if they know they have to sacrifice things and travel through some negativity to arrive at the positive place.
Every single one of us can do that. Sadly, the prevailing mentality in our borders is not the one they have. Some of us know it, and have it, but not enough of us. Too many other lower priorities are given higher priority.
Great comment.
I just saw this
Without getting too into faith. Virtual church has opened up a new world. A church we belonged to in framingham has seemed to find its way back to itself. It has a wednesday night zoom dinner with kids. Five year old Rilyn watched with me tonight. Its lesson was how do you work together with someone you might not agree with…..brought to a 5 or 7 or 8 year 9 old level.
The kids had suggestions that IMO adults need to learn
C-19 for 2-16 is ready.

The ship of fools sinks a bit lower each day
I am also truly tired of hearing how Massachusetts is a national leader.
Me, too!
Japan did not institute lockdowns at all, but did have (and still does) strict mitigation rules. There’s no question these work, when implemented universally. https://twitter.com/DrTomFrieden/status/1493696035117584385
