TK mentioned on the regular page that he was thinking of making this page available for ukraine discussion as well as covid. He said on his behalf I could ask folks here if they mind.
Thoughts?
Sure. But, it’s up to TK.
He’s been so generous already offering us a place to post C-19 related stuff.
It was his idea. He mentioned it on the whw page and said I could ask on his behalf
Personally I would rather not discuss Ukraine here on these blogs. The National nightly news pretty much speaks for itself. If enough wish to discuss it on a daily basis, my suggestion is a totally separate page from WHW and C-19.
It’s strictly up to TK of course.
I don’t want TK to create yet another page.
I feel the same as Philip. I would not like see another topic added to this section.
“to see”
That answers the question then. I would like to see Ukraine discussion but I suggested TK add this page but don’t want to suggest another.
In the UK there’s now been a 46% increases in cases in one week, with lower testing than before; 16% increase in hospital admissions; deaths have increased 6%. BA.2 is definitely a factor.
The case numbers across parts of Asia are striking in their contrasts. Some places have massive waves, like South Korea and Hong Kong. Others, like Japan, are much more muted.
The downward trend continues in the US, which is good. Will BA.2 put an end to that? As I said, there are indications from previous forerunner hotspots that BA.2 is gaining. Rhode Island, NYC region, and now the LA region in California. Bears monitoring, also to see if BA.1 really does protect. I’m hopeful my BA.1 infection plus booster in November keeps me from being infected in England. We shall see.
Sadly, Ukraine is in the midst of a bad surge of Covid-19 cases, with 35% test positivity and thousands of deaths in recent weeks. Talk about a double whammy. Russia is also getting hit hard.
Just heartbreaking. I was wondering how covid was impacting ukraine. Thank you.
The overcrowded bomb shelters – well, subway stations – will be superspreader events. I’ve noticed young and old sleeping there.
C-19 for 3-10 is ready.
I see majority rules on the idea of not adding any war chat to this page unless it relates directly to the pandemic. That’s fine. I just don’t want it taking over the weather page, so if it can be held in check, we’ll just leave it there. We’ll just leave it out on this page (which I hope to eliminate not long after the pandemic is over as it was always intended to be temporary).
It seems to be a tie, but I’m ok with it being kept to a minimum.

Your no-hype southeastern New England weather blog!
Thanks TK.
Health officials will be discussing the Boston Schools mask mandate today. It will be interesting if there will be a decision to lift it anytime soon.
They might as well join the rest of the fools.
Following school vacation, we reported just over 3,000 school cases in MA
