My Nieces mother in law is afflicted with alopecia.
In regard to the awards a few nights ago, I have yet to decide if what happened was staged.
Thanks again Joshua for yet another excellent article. Again, brief and to the point without using a lot of words that only medical people would understand. Even a lay person like myself was able to get the gist of the article.
Actually, the past few days has been mostly, if not all has been featured on Chris Rock rather than alopecia. 😉
Only 2% of currently hospitalized people in the U.S. have Covid-19. That’s lower than at any point since July 2020.
Still waiting for the BA.2 bump. Thus far, it’s more a ripple than a wave. Bears watching, though.
My sister in law has been in hospital 12 weeks yesterday. Not covid related. Two bouts of hospital acquired pneumonia extended her stay after the initial surgery. She is ready to move to a rehab but United health is insisting she doesn’t need acute rehab.
We so desperately need a single payer system. United health would not approve acute care for Mac either ….he’d only had his spine from L1 to T2 replaced with a rod and couldn’t walk so didn’t qualify.
Rant over. I think.
Been thinking of your sister-in-law for quite a while. 12 weeks in hospital is so long. Rehab is necessary for anyone who’s been in hospital that long. UnitedHealthcare is all about its bottom line.
Thank you Joshua. UHC denied Mac so much too that shocked his doctors. It amazes me that aarp supports it. Once mac was eligible for Medicare, it was a breath of fresh air.
Thanks for your articles Joshua. I have told many folks about your writing.

Your no-hype southeastern New England weather blog!
Thanks TK.
Been thinking and writing about this for a while: Politicization of public health in the context of Covid-19. It’s a pernicious problem, in my view, and it may prevent us from adequately tackling future pandemics. https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2022/04/01/covid-19-fallout-ruinous-effects-of-politicization-of-public-health-agencies-such-as-the-cdc/?sh=5547af173526
Good article as always Joshua. Thanks.
Btw, 1 of 4 free articles left.
Joshua, I enjoy all of your articles; but this one rises to the top. Well written, straight forward, fact based …..it doesn’t get better.
I’m sharing on my FB page. Thank you.
I was actually thinking the very same thing Vicki about Joshua’s articles.
Thanks, Vicki and Philip.
I like to write, but it takes me a long time especially when there’s research involved.
If interested, I also posted this article on alopecia (hair loss) in women: https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2022/04/01/will-smiths-controversial-incident-at-the-oscars-draws-attention-to-hair-loss-in-women/
