Ace if you are reading here, your board of health should have tests for you, especially if you have been exposed.
I went to one supermarket today to pick up the eight I can get per month via Medicare, but the supermarket was out. Another market in our area has them but the manufacture has already had one of its lots recalled so I’m not comfortable with them.
When I was waiting in the supermarket I mentioned above, I noticed that other than me, only one other shopper was masked. One of the three in the pharmacy was masked and one bagger was masked. And the market was quite crowded
Also hopkinton has suggested masks. I have no idea what anyone thinks that will do to help. And honestly, why are we so afraid of mandating?
I suspect that as we get into warmer and hotter temperatures, more will not be masking.
I’ve been noticing on the MBTA, fewer riders and now even operators/employees are masking. The “majority” still mask but by my observation, not as many as when the mandate was lifted. I would say it has gone from 95/5 masking to, let’s say, 70/30 masking.
Any idea on the airlines and airports? I would be curious on that. I have been hearing that some flight attendants were actually relieved that the mandate was lifted as they were frustrated at dealing with angry passengers.
Philip, I traveled to Chicago last week. Masks were about 25% in fight and less in the airport. O’Hare was even less. Interestingly, all flight attendants were masked.
The attendants unions did not want the mask ban lifted. Dry sad.
Hope all is well today, Ace
NYC has posted a mask advisory. I don’t think it’s a mandate. The authorities there have done this in response to the latest wave and rise in hospitalizations.
Also, judging from Florida’s spike, this wave is not behaving like previous ones (when Florida’s ascent began in July). And, I am seeing some increases in Europe again. They had been declining. Such an unpredictable virus.
By the way, I am exhausted, which could be an after-effect from my latest bout. At first I thought it was the heat on Saturday. But since it’s gotten cooler I’ve felt the same body fatigue.
Why are we pkaying to the lowest common denominator? Just put the mandate back in place. I suspect history will look back on this Period and wonder who exactly was running the show
Our governor has checked out….months ago. Heaven knows what Biden is thinking.
Steady increase in Massachusetts continues, across ALL Covid indicators: 30 deaths reported today; 3,500 cases (18% increase compared to last Tuesday); >800 in hospital (big jump compared to the end of last week when there were 728) – what’s notable is the considerable increase in ICU usage, too). https://twitter.com/WWLP22News/status/1526670719991652352
I’m old enough to remember MANY national and local commentators saying about a month ago that we had peaked. Covid was on the decline. You know, the usual happy talk. I admit, I kind of bought into it. Stupid me. Covid wastewater throughout Massachusetts is rising, and it ain’t just a tepid increase. https://twitter.com/AndrewALover/status/1526713684453629952
