No, I don’t know.
I think they’re working on Omicron-specific vaccines, as well as one that targets the BA.4 and BA.5 strains. But I could be mistaken about the latter. I am waiting to get my 2nd booster, by the way, until the fall. I had two bouts of Covid – both mild – fairly recently, and I’d like to wait until there’s at least an Omicron-specific shot.
My PCP is counting on that “specific” shot for me to get in the fall since the current vaccines have little to no effect on these new variants.
A lot good it did for Biden who has been vaccinated as much as I have, from what I understand. My CDC vaccination card is now “filled”.
My last shot was in February, btw so I suspect that I am due come fall. I would rather not have to wait until winter or next spring.
Philip, it’s not accurate to say Biden’s vaccinations did him no good. While they didn’t prevent him from contracting the virus, they likely prevented severe disease – at least, as far as we know – and worse outcomes. Hong Kong data from this spring showed that the new Omicron sub-variants killed older (>65) unvaccinated folks at a case fatality rate of close to 5%.
True, but from what we’ve seen, once you get the virus, it opens up to a number of “long term” issues thereafter in some people.

I’ve mentioned in here multiple times that I was waiting for omicron specific Vax’s to get my fourth. I had my third December 1. Based on what Faust said and the fact I need a routine procedure performed so will be in hospital for that, I will get my fourth in early august and then the 5th omicron specific when available.

I had my fourth in April. I had a moderate case this month but I think it would have been worse without that 4th.
