U.S. has pulled ahead of all other countries in terms of numbers of monkeypox cases. No surprise. On a relative, per capita, scale we’re still trailing countries like Spain. But, not for long. The U.S. has essentially ignored monkeypox. I have yet to see a single public health announcement on TV about monkeypox, for example. On the other hand, European countries are aggressively pursuing public health campaigns aimed at prevention and vaccination/treatment. Why we don’t do the same, I will never understand.
