COVID wastewater in Boston down 28% in recent weeks.
Some really good news. Thank you.
I’m certainly not Joshua but I bet as soon as school starts again, levels will just zoom back up. This Covid-19 has been one big roller coaster from the beginning.
I get mine tomorrow. Making soup today so I have something easy to eat if I react as I did to other three.
I hope that all goes well for you Vicki.
Good thinking to prepare the soup!
Thank you, SClarke.
Wastewater levels could indeed go back up. But, that is not a certainty. BA.2.75 would be the next variant. It’s having trouble competing and gaining a foothold in most countries. If it does strengthen, then we’ll have another Omicron wave. If it doesn’t, we’ll have to wait and see what other waves are in store. We could (emphasis on the word could) be lucky and see a petering out of the sub-variants.
Monkeypox cases around the world surpass 25,000 cases. U.S. accounts for ~27% of all cases. Our numbers are increasing rapidly. If this sounds familiar, it should. This is very similar to the Covid-19 case percentage proportion U.S./world. I see zero attempt at mitigation in the U.S. No signs. No placards. Nothing on TV or radio. I hear plenty of ads for men’s sexual health. But, of course, that’s a for profit business. That’s booming. Public health, on the other hand, is being neglected.

My latest is on drug pricing provisions contained in the budget reconciliation bill. https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2022/08/02/critics-decry-drug-pricing-provisions-in-inflation-reduction-act-say-they-will-stifle-innovation/
