Surprised? At this point I am not. What’s happening across Europe is now happening here. And yes, it will be worse here in terms of outcomes, guaranteed. We have lower vaccination rates across all groups, including the vulnerable. While booster uptake has been fairly steady at times – I reported this last week – it turns out that many of the boosters were taken by folks like me – NOT in the vulnerable groups. We’re still not properly targeting the weakest links in our system. I don’t get it. Nursing homes/assisted living should be cut off from ALL federal support if they don’t boost their residents at 100% levels. Staff should be required to be vaccinated, as they are for practically all other communicable diseases for which there are vaccines. Staff and residents should be required to be masked. Period. These are NOT draconian steps I’m proposing. Where there’s a will there’s a way. But there is no will in the United States, at least not for this.
Thanks, Joshua. This is related to the question I have. How often are you seeing recommendations for the bivalent after last booster. I’ve seen 4-6 months with closer to 4. A friend said her pcp said 2 months and 3 for anyone who has had Covid which I have not seen. Thank you
4-6 months is typical.
I’m getting mine today along with an influenza shot. Should be an interesting woozy night.
Oh boy. Good luck today. I hope you can just take it easy the rest of the day
I am also hearing 4-6 so appreciate your answer. I’ve never heard two.
Don’t think the graph you sent has been updated. Should be updated by tomorrow. Wastewater is measured at two sites near Boston and in other parts of the state. I believe the previous graph I sent (was embedded in a tweet) was of the two sites near Boston.
Pandemic News guy does provide accurate graphs and data. He is a bit of a fearmongerer, though. He’s from Quebec. Used to have a different Twitter handle: Gabriel Hébert-Mild(TM). Don’t know why he changed it to Pandemic News. Turns out he is a Montreal jeweler, who for some reason does know a lot about the pandemic.
Very interesting. I noted Dewald follows him. Thanks again. I’ll follow with that in mind.
I think this is the source of the graphs in the tweet that Joshua posted above.
Thanks SClarke. That was one of the links I usd above. I saved it when you sent to me a bit ago and Miraculously remembered where. I think that’s the one Joshua said hadn’t been updated

Your no-hype southeastern New England weather blog!
Wastewater in Massachusetts has taken a turn upwards, and the slope is quite steep. https://twitter.com/jonlevyBU/status/1575263159451000833/photo/2

Maybe it hasn’t been updated.
Is this accurate? For a week?
