  1. Thanks tk, I’m leaning towards a rather wet Tue, at this time I see some locations in eastern Mass coming close to a half inch though I think most come closer to a quarter inch, another nice day 🙂

    1. That reminds me, a nice walk around the lake in Wakefield must happen again. I wonder if Todd G. from WBZ will be out there again. 😉

        1. Tomorrow would be a great walk day if I didn’t have to mow the lawn, thanks to the dumb rain! HAHAHA

  2. Any bets as to whether we actually get a freeze tonight. So far 2 out of 3 not. I’m still covering because I figure sooner or later they may be right????

    1. Personally I have not had a problem here since its almost tradion that we plant all our flowers/plants the 2nd weekend in April since 1999, if something does happen it will be the 1st but I would bet it gets down to around 34 degrees, not sure exactly for you though Vicki 🙂

      1. I have had problems but have been here longer than that. Although it was early 2000s when I lost the majority including my bleeding hearts. It hasn’t been below 35 here the past two nights. Daughter in valley in blacks tone valley area has also not had freeze. I think u r right about temp Charlie but I’d kick myself idi didn’t do something as easy as covering and lost more

What confuses me is you’d think the forecast would be a little closer to the real temp. Maybe someone could explain why it’s been so far off.

        1. Last night it was bc of cloud cover, it tends to not allow the energy to escape into space hence we were warmer

          1. No clouds here. Could see the moon light coming in skylight. But if there were clouds anywhere I’d think mets would know. I’m not being critical. I’m just confused. The warnings were very specific.

            1. What is your elevation and are you in a relative low spot (hills around), or on a hill?

              1. I’m in Framingham. Just asphalt :). Just kidding. Woods around. I am just west of nobscot mountian Which is a hill But friend in franklin didn’t have frost. Daughter in valley didn’t either. She has lots of woods and a river on one side and another not far on another

                1. the marshland behind my house actually had frost on some of the brush but i had none up in the yard.

  3. I didn’t know whether to put this here, or under gardening. I don’t know why, but I somehow got put in charge of planting outside of my school. What I know about planting you can fit on the head of a pin. Anyway, we have 4 big concrete flower pots–I’m supposed to put pansies in them and I just want to get it done. My principal thinks it might be too early and they might freeze. All opinions appreciated.

    1. Deb pansies are really hardy and typically go out early. Only thing that would stop me is if there is a large financial investment and principal said not to plant and you planted and they were lost. My best suggestion and one that hasn’t failed me since I had the trouble with frost is to call nursery where I bought the plant in question. I know it’s a non answer but when someone puts me in charge of something and gives me advice I usually give it a lot of weight.

  4. Barry Burbank posted a high of 78 for Fri. In fairness, he did say he was “holding out hope.”

    1. Most forecasts I have seen have temps 70+ for Friday. It will be interesting if TK agrees this time around. 😉

  5. Most of my tulips are now dead since they came up so early this year. They usually stay up until Mother’s Day. I am now concerned that by then there may be no more spring flowers in my yard on that day. We will see. 🙁

On the bright side, there are still beautiful flowers in my yard just blooming, but may be gone sooner than previous years.

    1. Philip. Exact same here. I’m not so sure I’m as far ahead of last year as I am ahead of where our flowers were in the mid-1980s and into 1990

  6. My crocisis popped in early March and everything else I have including a bleeding heart came out earlier than expected.
Its going to be on the chilly side once again and the latest CPC outlook has us in the below normal cateogory for temperatures.
