No, today is not going to be sunny. There is too much moisture, minor convergence, and some instability left. Not a washout though, even though a few showers are possible.
Monday looks perfect. Midweek looks wet. Late week look for improvement. Full discussion and forecast for the 7 days Monday through Sunday coming by late evening.

Looking at the longer term, still no big warm up and still unsettled from what I can see at least out to 10 days. GFSx looks like the trough over the northeast my get pushed out after next wednesday (thats a week from this wednesday) but a copule more days to verify. Based on the NAO going back towards neutral to positive in that time frame, Brett Anderson’s interpretation of the euro forecast for a warmer third week of May, we should be in this pattern for another week to 10 days. Seems wee have 3-4 days of unsettled, cool weather with a couple days of dry, warmer weather in between. I said a week ago I thought that we would not see more stable weather and a warm up until the week of the 21st. I’m still sticking to that. Hopefully after that we can get into a little more warmer and drier pattern. Although we could use a touch more rain to make up the decicit, I’m really ready for a return to a milder and drier pattern.
Thanks TK. I guess it is back to work tomorrow when there will be a sunny day from beginning to end!
Thanks, TK.
Nothing on radar right now except for a few light showers to the northwest of Sudbury – if they are even hitting the ground. But it is quite dark here and looks like it wants to do something. Was out earlier when there was some sun and it was pleasantly cool. Now with the sun gone it has gotten colder and raw.
Thanks for the update TK, even though I don’t like it π
I know u might not be able to answer this yet, but what do u think the timing, intensity, and frequency of the showers will be for tues?
Early call is light to moderate stuff and mostly in the afternoon/night. Need time to refine this as even now there is some conflicting guidance.
How about thurs TK and thanks for the update π
Thursday is even harder to know at this point, but if you go with the Euro it may be damp much of the day. I went the route Barry took last night for now, a little more optimistic, but this could change.
Thanks TK
Our weekly golf forecast π
As rainshine said it sure did get dark. It’s a bit brighter now but that sun was very short lived
sunny here in billerica but a chill in the air temp is 56 at the house 50 down by the water of the marsh.
Sun and beautiful blue sky now.
Same here in Boston…but will it last??
Actor George Lindsey aka “Goober Pyle” died today at age 83. Probably mostly only older bloggers here know who he was. π
Goober says hey.
Just recently I saw him in a role in The Rifleman. IIRC he played one of a group of escaped prisoners. He was about as vicous as any other badman I have ever seen on that show. While he was almost immediately recognizable, obviously he was no where close to his “Goober” role on Andy Griffith. π
I heard he wasn’t singing the national anthem at a NASCAR event. How sad. any young person interested in NASCAR Knows him as well
I don’t follow NASCAR or auto racing in general. GL was born in Alabama so I am not totally surprised that he would be into the auto racing world. Am I correct that NASCAR is mostly a southern sport?
It is. It’s one of the biggest races where he always sings – talladegha. (sp)
For the first time in my life I may root for a team other than red sox. I am fascinated by Bryce Harper – rookie the nationals just picked up. Phillies pitcher just hit him intentionally. Wonder if he’s happy with that decision. Harper just stole home.
Nationals, eh ? I think you have a good idea Vicki…… When your bullpen puts up seven 0’s from the 9th to the 16th, as the home team with last at bats, you just have to be able to score 1 run.
Don’t worry Vicki, the Sox will be A-OK. They hit the road tomorrow for three games with Kansas City. π and then they return home on Thursday for a six game homestand. π
I do wonder if this season is going to be a home-away thing. π
It’s more Harper. I’m really interested in seeing how his career goes. I don’t know percent of steeling home but it can’t be very big.
If the general idea of this coming week of clouds and rain leads to sunny, 70s next weekend, I’ll take that trade.
Jeremy Reiner has a great weekend on his 7-day…mid 70’s both Saturday and Sunday (Mother’s Day). Hope it verfies. π
Yay. Plan for mothers day is swan boats.
Hey what’s up everyone, I believe we have a 2 part system on its way, the 1st will be Tue evening where a quarter to half inch of rain will fall with some isolated higher amounts north, and then a 6-10hr lull then as low pressure strengthens and comes off the coast of Nantucket brings a swath of rain bringing around an inch of rain, total rainfall from both events will be between .75-1.50, some isolated higher and lower amounts π
The Celtics are looking good…up by 28 points end of 3rd quarter. π
The C’s win easily for a change! π
Good win by the Celtics taking a commanding 3-1 series lead.
I saw comments earlier about the Red Sox and as I tell everyone talking to me about the standings at the All Star Break and lets see where everyone is. Baseball is a long season.
JJ – my comments were not dissing the Sox, I’m just more than interested in watching how Harper progresses. Baseball in general leaves me a bit cold since it is nothing like it once was and has definitely IMHO changed for the better.
My theory on the sox of late, though, is they are better off doing well first half, poorly after all star break and then they don’t get so cocky and have a shot at getting into the playoffs.
Everything has been delayed about 12 hrs, Tuesday maybe salvageable before 2 batches of rain
I saw this morning that heaviest rain could be between wed nite and thurs am
