DAYS 1-5 (APRIL 28 โ MAY 2)
A warm front went by overnight with showers, and we’re in the warm sector now, but with a northwest flow aloft. A couple disturbances have to go by our area. This brings a couple opportunities for passing showers, the smaller chance being around midday today, the greater chance toward evening when a few of those showers may end up on the heavier side. Not everybody will see them however, and some locations stay rain-free all day. Tomorrow’s shower chance looks limited to inland pop up afternoon ones while a back-door cold front slips into the region from the northeast. Initially a good warm up will be thwarted, especially in southern NH and eastern coastal MA to Cape Cod, by the front’s advance. Enough Canadian high pressure should put the entire region on the cool side of that boundary by Tuesday which also will be an unsettled day as a disturbance moves in from the west. The low center of this system will actually pass south of us by early Wednesday and we never really get back into the warm air. Improvement looks likely Wednesday afternoon though as the system departs, but it will be a cool day with an easterly air flow. Thursday, however, things turn around, figuratively and literally, as high pressure sinks to the south and a west to southwest wind brings a nice warm-up, except to South Coast locations which can’t warm up as much.
TODAY: Variably cloudy. Passing showers possible around midday and again late afternoon. Highs 63-70 but 55-62 South Coast. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Variably cloudy. Passing rain showers possible. Lows 48-55. Wind SW up to 10 MPH.
MONDAY: Partly sunny. Isolated afternoon showers possible well inland. Highs 65-72 except 58-65 Boston area northward occurring by midday, with potentially falling temperatures midday on, especially Boston area north. Wind variable up to 10 MPH, but may turn NE 5-15 MPH in southern NH and eastern MA.
MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Lows 43-50. Wind NE-E 5-15 MPH.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Episodic rain. Highs 50-57, coolest coast. Wind E 5-15 MPH.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Cloudy. Chance of rain. Areas of drizzle/fog. Lows 44-51. Wind SE-E 5-15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy with lingering light rain/drizzle possible early, then breaking clouds. Highs 53-60, warmest inland. Wind E up to 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Clearing, but patchy ground fog. Lows 45-52. Wind calm.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 58-65 South Coast, 66-73 elsewhere. Wind W to SW 5-15 MPH.
DAYS 6-10 (MAY 3-7)
Leaning toward mild weather May 3-4 with generally fair conditions until later May 4 when a frontal boundary will go through with a shower threat. Fair, cooler mid period before unsettled weather can return late period.
DAYS 11-15 (MAY 8-12)
No big changes in the general outlook heading toward the middle of May. Generally dry pattern with a couple minor systems to threaten brief unsettled weather. Overall northwest to north flow should result in temperatures averaging slightly below normal.
Thanks TK !

Good morning and thank you TK.
So much for the string of 70s forecast by some Mets (NOT TK) a few days ago. ๐ ๐ ๐ Amazing that they fall for some of the medium range happy horse shit And totally neglect to take into account COOL/COLD air in Eastern Canada and the usual Spring time Back Door Cold Fronts. Shame on them!!!
Here, it was 67 yesterday with a low this morning of 45.
Currently sitting at 52.
Ocean temperature is: 45 (Boston Buoy)
Ahh…Spring in New England.
On a totally different subject…
Anyone have Comcast Internet Phone (Voice over IP) with Comcast voice mail, but also a physical answering machine as well. We do and all of sudden our answering machine would no longer answer the call and record a message.
The answer lies in how many rings each system is set for.
Although no one will admit it, I believe Comcast had some sort of recent upgrade where all subscriber’s voice mail rings were set to 4. That means if the physical answering machine rings
was set to 5, it would never pick up the call. If set to 4, it might be intermittent with it answering sometimes and sometimes not. I proved this when I set my physical answering machine rings to 3 and VIOLA! it started working again. I had to call Comcast customer service and have them set their voice mail rings to 6. Once that was done, I reset my physical answering machine rings to 5.
All is in working order now.
Sorry for the long aside, but I throw this out there Just in case
someone here might be experiencing a similar problem.
๐
I have fios. I had comcast and was not happy with it. My landline number is the one mac snd I had from the start of our marriage so I canโt bring myself to get rid of it. I just have all calls to it forward to my cell. I was getting tons of junk calls in the landline and itโs easier to block numbers with my cell.
We were able to use our old Verizon landline with Comcast with no issues, until this happened. Oh well. ๐
Thanks Tk . Keep swayman in net & finish this game .
Series
AGREED!!! He’s the man!!!
Absolutely. No disrespect whatsoever to Ullmark, but in the playoffs you keep rolling with the guy who’s been playing lights out (if you’re lucky enough to have one, which we are). Ully is still a very capable backup in this role should we need him! I’m guessing he gets the game plan and in the spirit of team he’ll go along with it, even though I’m sure he’d love to be starting. ๐
Agree , would be a massive mistake if they pull sway .
Thanks TK
Thanks TK
Thanks, TK.
This British kid (Nandi Bushell) is quite the drummer. Covering Tom Sawyer (Rush): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaPPVioejBw

Awesome! I have seen a few of her videos before. Incredible talent.
Shower batch #1 for today moving through now .. concentration is to the north.
Thanks TK.
Potent area of low pressure currently traversing the North Sea with a strong westerly and gale-force wind at times. Wind gusts at the coast of the Netherlands over 65 mph. Nothing unusual, but it hasn’t been a tranquil spring there. Long-range looks a bit unsettled, too, and on the cool side. It’s been cooler than normal for about 5 weeks over there. Early to mid May could get even cooler. Forecasters there generally don’t formally do long-range forecasts beyond 10 days. But I’m hearing from several that after a relatively warm start in June it could (emphasis on could) turn out to be a much cooler than normal summer across Northwestern Europe. This occurred last year, too, by the way. And I can recall quite a few of these front-loaded summers when I lived there: A few relatively warm weeks in June followed by cooler and (daily) unsettled conditions in July and August.
My friend in Scotland says that it feels like it never really warmed up there since winter – in a relative sense of course.
Iโm learning that Scotland has trouble warming up in general. My sonโs wife gifted him (them) a trip for his 40th. Heโs been researching best time to go. His cousin (Macโs twins youngest) spent a couple of years there for college
Is that Sam Heughan?
Out here in North Hampton, MA, oh, 10-15 miles north-northwest of Springfield watching a womenโs college field hockey jamboree. They play at 11, 1 and 3pm and then that determines if they play at 4 or 5.
Mostly sunny, definitely over 60F. Itโs very spring like !!
Do you have someone competing? Northampton is a fun place. Oldest participated in many horse shows there. Lots of yummy restaurants. Enjoy
Yes, our oldest is playing goalie for Bridgewater State.
Awesome. Wishing her a great game.
Timing on the front tomorrow is early. In some areas the high temps I have may not be realized. Will monitor.
Thanks, TK!
Yesterday was certainly great day for Boston sports fans: dominating wins for the Sox, Celtics and Bruins! The Pride get the game-winning with three seconds left; Messi scores two goals in front of a soccer, record-breaking crowd at Gillette; The Patriots had an interesting draft. We’ll have to wait to see if the picks pan out.
I was reading in the Barcelona on-line news “El Periodico” that the Catalonia plant that manufactures the famous Cava champagne is laying off hundreds of workers because of the years-long drought that is affecting grape production.
64 here, but NOT going up as fast as I would have expected.
Must be indirect sea breeze influence from the South.
Still a beautiful day here!!!
63 here very litte breeze
Actually it’s right where I expected it to be.
GOOD GRIEF!!!!! The NAM keeps it in the upper 40s MOST OF THE DAY tomorrow ANYWHERE NEAR THE COAST!! All the way to about 495 and then beyond that a little later in the day.
BRUTAL!(P@*#*!_*@#!*@#*(!@(_!(@#)(!_@#
Typical PISS-POOR Spring weather around here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did I ever say how much I DETEST SPRING here?
Weather UNFIT for humans!!!
True, but you must admit we’ve been blessed with 2 really nice weekend days.
I got my run in just now. It turned out to be warmer than I thought it would be, but certainly not uncomfortably so.
Yesterday I walked from Jamaica Pond through some of the neighborhoods of Boston to my place. It was a splendid urban walk of around 3.5 miles. There are very few cities in the world that rival Boston for walking. London is one of them, but Central London is way too crowded to have a comfortable stroll. Similarly, Paris and Amsterdam are too bustling.
Yes, I would agree that yesterday and today were 10s for certain!! But we PAID for them for several days ahead and now a few days after as well. NOTHING is for free around here.
We used to walk around Jamaica Pond twice each day. Now i am lucky if I walk down to the store. ๐
Which side did you walk on? The J-Way side or the Brookline side. The Brookline side is prettier imho. ๐
Vicki has shared with us some great pictures of Baltimore Orioles.
Here’s one from Central Park from a Twitter account I sometimes look at: https://twitter.com/BirdCentralPark/status/1784645409115152510
Beautiful bird. Not sure I have ever seen one around here. Perhaps once or twice, but I can’t be sure. ๐
You might hear them before you see them. They are loud
Stunning. Thank you
I just put my oranges out. Itโs a bit early for them but not enough that I figured Iโd get feeder ready.
For the soccer fans among us, Messi has had quite a month (April) toying with MLS teams. No doubt he was helped by shoddy defense giving him too much space at times but he still shined as a footballer: https://twitter.com/FutbolJan10/status/1784543937526386765
He just needs a millisecond of being left unmarked to deliver magic. His golazo last week at Kansas City was brilliant. He and his Barcelona mates, Suarez and Busquets, seem to know exactly where each one is on the field without looking. Those three lift the play of the other Inter Miami players.
Thanks TK.
Just hit 70. Doors and windows open.
69 here
Very nice. Did you get any fishing in? Sorry if I missed it
nope. did not go
Hopefully soon
JPD, I walked on the J-Way side with my son. He has a place on Sheridan Street in JP. I’ve walked around the pond before with him.

Have never seen this footage before of the Space Shuttle Enterprise atop a Boeing 747: https://twitter.com/JayinKyiv/status/1784674131088224721
I have seen the shuttle on 747 but this may be wrong video?
finally made 70 here.
I can watch these kinds of plays in baseball all day. I know. I’m a nut. https://twitter.com/MLB/status/1784382902865629451
Me too!
I miss Jackie Bradley Jr. That guy could throw a ball.
Don’t forget Johnny Damon.
Just kidding ๐
Shower batch #2 for today is moving in, and as was expected it is more widespread than the first one with the concentration further south this time.
Yikes sure is. First batch was a quick shower during church.
CF, you described Messi well. Besides being soccer’s GOAT he’s the most versatile player at his position that I’ve ever seen. He corners, passes, shoots and dribbles well. Great instincts and insight, too. And what I love about soccer is that a small guy like him can be the GOAT. A lot of soccer players are normal-sized. I can relate to them just from a size perspective. I’m 5’8″ and weigh 165. In basketball if I could play (I can’t) I’d be a Nate (Tiny) Archibald (some of you may remember him). In football, I’d get killed on the first play even if I had a skill-set. Hockey players are not enormous but they’re certainly bigger than I am. Almost all baseball players are considerably taller than I am and weigh a lot more.
Midnight and still 60 here
Back up to 61
Never dropped below 60 here in JP last night.
My equipment read 60 at 5:53 AM
and that was it. Now 65, but the front is through. I suspect temp to start dropping soon, especially when the wind shifts to NE.
New weather post…
