DAYS 1-5 (NOVEMBER 6-10)
A warm & windy Wednesday is what we have today in the warm sector ahead of an approaching cold front. This front, and a couple secondary boundaries following it, will stair-step us back toward seasonably cool as we head toward the weekend. A gusty breeze will often be with us during this transition, and with the lack of rainfall, fire danger will remain high. During Sunday, clouds return ahead of an approaching warm front, but I’m skeptical of how much rainfall some of the guidance paints for our area. Chance of rain: Yes. Chance of significant rain: Low. More to come on this…
TODAY: Lots of sun. Highs 71-78. Wind SW to W 10-20 MPH, gusts 25-35 MPH.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 51-58. Wind W 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.
THURSDAY: Partly cloudy. Highs 58-65. Wind NW 5-15 MPH, gusts up to 20 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 33-40. Wind NW up to 10 MPH.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 50-57. Wind NW 5-15 MPH, gusts up to 20 MPH.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 35-42. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 48-55. Wind NW 5-15 MPH, gusts up to 20 MPH.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Clear followed by high clouds. Lows 25-32. Wind calm.
SUNDAY: Thickening clouds. Chance of rain at night. Highs 46-53. Wind SE up to 10 MPH.
DAYS 6-10 (NOVEMBER 11-15)
Overall pattern is dry, up and down temps but mild for the 5-day stretch. Brief interruption of unsettled weather most likely around November 14.
DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 15-19)
Stronger evidence of a continuation of the same pattern from days 6-10. Mostly dry, up and down temps, brief interruption of unsettled weather most likely around November 17.

Rafael, down in the mid 960 mb range.
It might well be down 24 mb in 24 hrs. Certainly has strengthened a lot.

Rafael to give Western Cuba a good blow, for sure

Good morning and thank you, TK.
Thanks TK
Good morning and thank you TK.
Low of 60 overnight and already 65!
Record today?????
Any chance someone sees 80F today?
Has anyone heard from Joshua lately?
I asked the same thing a few days ago. He’s been absent for a long while.
Forbes posted an article written by him on Monday and he made a post on X yesterday. Probably just tied up with other things.
Thanks Mark. That’s a good sign.
Yes, the information is appreciated.
68 with dp 57.
Is 80 in the cards? We shall see.
69 at the airport with dp 57
Already 72 at Norwood.
Thanks TK! Let’s see if we can crack a few 80’s.
Sure, why not!
BDL is 75 last check so I would say they have a shot to break 80
And with the dewpoint approaching 60, it feels a little warmer than it did during last week’s warm spell.
73 here, dp 59
Thanks TK.
Record for BDL was tied yesterday at 78F.
Record for today is 76F and it is already 75F at 10AM as JJ mentioned. Looks like that record is going to go down in a big way.
75 here in JP, dp 59
75 at the airport, dp 57
Mark last Friday BDL got to 83. Will see if they get close to that today.
Core of Raphael may go near/over Havana
Havana population near 2.2 million per wikipedia
I am at 79

I have the AC running in my classroom. Nice new ventilation system was one positive from the pandemic.
The hallways are a bit stuffy.

Not exactly sure of those really small islands but the eye went over one of them and the eastern half got the eastern eye wall.
I would say that 80 or greater is very much achievable now.
Climate change definitely at work.
Could an all-time November record be achieved as well? Off the top of my head, is it 83F (1950) or thereabouts?

Not at a 54 min reading, but the last few reports from Logan have been 81F.
Same at 1,000 ft Worcester airport. Most recent temp is 79F, but not at a 54 min reading.

81 at Logan , dp 55
79 at Worcester
A new record at Logan regardless. 🙂
Just short of 80 here at 79.6
83F at BDL as of 1:51PM shattering the previous record for the day.
Thank you all 🙂 (You know what I mean.)
BTW an update on mom while I have a moment. She went for a cardio appointment today. Very good report. So much so the next visit is 6 months away. She’s also basically off oxygen, which she’d been using frequently for a while. Her recovery has been above expectation, and we seem to have things in a good, stable place right now!
Not much for me to add regarding the weather. We thought today would be a very warm day, probably record-setter for the date. Sure enough! Now we stair-step back down.
It’s not unusual to have very warm surges in autumn with PDO & AMO in the phases they are in while La Nina is just getting started. Today was a prime example.
Good news about mom! 🙂
2nd Philip’s thoughts.
Great to hear!

Ooooops !
Over a 30 day month of November, today is good for imparting a starting departure of +0.7 to +0.9F for every day of the month. And that’s being added to by an above avg Nov 1-5.
The 3 months leading to this have been all within 2 of normal.
A bit below August, right about normal September, a bit above October.
New post…
