Quick & Quiet

7:20AM

Weather systems are moving along, but the pattern will be quiet since none of these systems are likely to cause any significant weather. One such weak system is moving through this morning with clouds and a few brief showers, but is really just the leading edge of a shot of cooler air which will be with us through Friday night. High pressure that builds in Friday will quickly sink to the south of New England Saturday, allowing a warm-up. By Sunday another weak cold front will slide through, probably early in the day, without a great deal of fanfare, and return a slightly cooler air mass to the region for early next week. Quickly on its heels a warm up follows by the middle of next week.

  1. Thank you TK – love the weather.

I believe we have a birthday gal!! Happy Birthday, Sue!! I hope I’m correct. I was wrong last time I thought it was your birthday.

        1. No big plans Vicki. My oldest has football practice and my youngest starts kindergarten tomorrow so we will lay low tonight. We will celebrate over the weekend.

    1. Thanks Vicki. They had an informational meeting last night and I understand it was heavily attended. For now, we think we’re just outside the updated flood zones, we hope !

  2. We were out on the deck for a while. The sky has completely cleared and its calm. While the high 30F and low 40F dewpoints havent arrived yet (Marshfield dewpoint is 54F), it was refreshingly cool at 57F. When we get a night or two of this in early August, I dont really care for it then, but, it feels great now !! Enjoying having to put on a sweatshirt to keep warm.

  3. What are they seeing in Denver I’m missing. It seems storms are north of stadium. However as in golf if its in the immediate area I get it

  4. Still getting cold air advection. Mt. Washington in last hour fell from 29.1F to 27.7F. There’s a wind a bit over 50 mph, and the windchill is around 9F.

  5. I saw her tonight Vicki. She is a little better. She now has a pocket of fluid near her pancreas and they need to wait for that to clear up or they will have to go in and take care of it. They need that to clear up before they can take her gallbladder out which they think is he cause of her pancreatitis. She is in less pain though and they are trying her with clear liquids right now. 3 weeks yesterday she has been n the hospital. She has never been sick enough to be in the hospital before this. Hopefully things get better soon! Thanks for asking.

    1. Oh dear, north, what a long process. Is she agreeable to a second opinion or do you think she no longer needs one? She is in my thoughts and prayers. You too

      1. Thanks Vicki. They had a second opinion of a doctor at Falmouth hospital that is affiliated with the BW, so they are taking that as their second opinion. I don’t love Falmouth hospital at all. She is on a liquid diet and yesterday instead of jello they gave her jelly!!! Don’t get it….

        1. Oh boy. The saddest part is that no matter what hospital, a patient needs someone to advocate for him. I can’t imagine what happens when folks don’t have family to oversee. Trust me that would happen at the Brigham, MGH, children’s or any other. Its really scary. She is very lucky to have you and your dad but it takes its toll . I hope you start to see a steady improvement soon
