Saturday PM Update

4:30PM

Stationary front lingers through Sunday with lots of clouds and a risk of passing showers. Tropcial air surges in for Monday ahead of a cold front that will come through early Tuesday (also have to watch for an influx of tropical moisture associated partially with what is left of Karen). Expecting things to move swiftly enough that it should clear by later Tuesday after lingering showers to start the day. This should lead to a dry mid to late week, though we will have to watch an area of low pressure hanging around in the waters south of New England.

Updated forecast for southeastern New England…

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Patchy fog and passing showers late. Lows 55-60. Wind light variable but mainly E.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy. Passing showers possible. High 60-65. Wind E 5-15 MPH.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Temperatures steady around 60. Wind S 5-15 MPH.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy. Passing showers. Heavier rain possible late day or night. Highs in the 70s. Wind S 10-20 MPH and gusty.

TUESDAY: AM showers / PM clearing. Low 60. High 70.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny. Low 55. High 65.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Low 55. High 72.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy. Low 50. High 63.

  1. Thanks tk. It was a nice sunny day around these parts. Time to relax I just spent two hours polishing and waxing my rails and rims, had mud guards put on today and she is looking sweet. You know you did a good job when you see your reflection in your tire rims.

I didn’t remember until meteorologist Joe Furey of WTIC Tv our Fox station in CT mentioned it. It was winter storm Abe named by WFSB our CBS affliate which has been naming storms since the 70s. The criteria they use 6 plus inches of snow for the state or 1/4 inch or greater of icing.

  5. Quite a turnaround from the 93 losses the Red Sox had a season ago. Everything has clicked in the regular and now through two games of the postseason.

  6. The B’s — YES. Tory Krug looked good.

Now for the Pats … and they are in a tough one tomorrow.

  8. To Vicki,

I remember 2004 very well. My dad, an avid Sox fan for 80 years, bought us two tickets for the final game in St Louis. We went and had a great time. And yes, they all had a game face!

    1. Wow what a game to be able to attend. And what a memory. I know it sound odd and I really am not terribly odd but watching each game in that series I had such a tremendous feeling of Williams presence. Most of the games were too late for me to watch the end but I knew when I went to sleep they would win. I just wish so many of the die hard fans of old could have been here to see it. Or maybe they did. What a series.

  9. Logan and Worcester’s avg overnight lows for October 6th are 50F and 45F, respectively.

Currently, its 60F and 56F …. Been quite a mild last, at least against climate averages.

  10. Good morning all!
I’m not having a stellar forecasting week.
I did not forecast enough rain for this morning.
I also forecast it to be milder than it will be today.
All fixed! (I hope!) … Just issued a short update.
Full Week Ahead post will be early today.
Going to a concert tonight. 🙂
