Friday AM Update

7:38AM

Quick update.

High pressure today – beautiful summer day. Low pressure to the south will get a little closer than previously anticipated, but it will not ruin the weekend. It will add some cloudiness to it, especially Sunday, along with a risk of some wet weather over Cape Cod at that time.

Next week looks a little more typical of mid to late July as high pressure strengthens, adds some heat, and a cold front tries to knock it back down bringing a risk of thunderstorms again by the middle of the week.

Forecast for southeastern New England…

TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows in the 60s. Wind light SE to S.

SATURDAY: Sunshine becoming filtered by increasing high cloudiness. Highs 70s Cape Cod and South Coast, 80-85 elsewhere. Wind light SE to S.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Lows 60-65. Wind light SE.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy. Risk of some rain Cape Cod / Islands. Highs in the 70s. Wind SE to E 5-15 MPH.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy. Low 60. High 80.

  1. heading on up to salisbury beach, state park of course :D…. gonna be sunny with temps in the 70s good beach weather

  2. Thanks TK.

We’ll be in Harwich Sunday, so I’m CERTAIN it WILL RAIN down there!
    CERTAIN!! Always the way!

    On another subject,

What was the convection last evening? Where did that come from?
When we left the house last evening I could see dark clouds and I told my wife that there was a shower out there. Indeed there was.

We got wet coming home. Was raining from Dedham ALL
the way home to JP. Yet Eric didn’t even mention that it rained in the City. He
mentioned a shower in Quincy. šŸ˜€

    1. Much more than a shower, it was an absolute blinding downpour further south on 95! I got home from work late last night around 9:30 and the wife was like, why is ur car all wet?

  3. It was a good shower for ud but not blinding downpour.
Btw only met to even mention shower posdibilty was tk

  4. Thanks TK – we had rain last night? Hmmmm.

Another spectacular day and you worked your magic TK for tomorrow’s weather – Mac’s family will be here from all corners of the country for a support Mac family reunion!!!

    1. I love that, Vicki – a “Support Mac Family Reunion!” That is so awesome, and how great it is that people are coming from far and wide. So excited Mother Nature and the weather gods are giving your family a wonderful present of lovely weather for this weekend! Mac will certainly be thrilled šŸ™‚

  5. My bet is that TK is or will be at Revere Beach with the sand sculptures this weekend. šŸ˜‰ I find it interesting that those sand sculptures will stay indefinitely until Mother Nature takes over but the ice sculptures for First Night are smashed first thing in the morning on January 2nd regardless of the temps.

  6. Last’s night’s convection was focused on a sea breeze boundary which was merged with an old outflow boundary left behind from activity with the front.

I will indeed be at Revere Beach tomorrow from about 2PM until the end of the fireworks display. Anybody wanna come down and say hi? šŸ™‚

    1. Eric called that thing just off the coast where you are, a “Rogue” low. šŸ˜€
The GFS brings it right on up and drenches the Cape. Nam keeps it off shore
as does the Euro. I’m hoping for off shore.

      Enjoy!

    1. The sun has been shining, just extremely filtered to dimmed. It will be that way much of today but brighter (or less filtered) at times.

It may not be a bright sun weekend but it could also have turned out much worse. šŸ™‚

A great day for the sand sculptures at Revere Beach and a nice fireworks display tonight. šŸ™‚
