A warmer pattern is underway, which will last through the Memorial Day Weekend. I cannot promise perfect weather, as a frontal system will be in the vicinity at times, and may produce a few showers and thunderstorms, but most of the activity is expected to be well north and west of the Boston Area at least over the next few days.

Another beautiful day going, as the morning low clouds and fog have burnt off. I see dewpoints of 65 to 70F in the mid-Atlantic region, so, I’m curious to see how humid it gets in the coming days. Also, if the surface wind becomes a bit more westerly at some point during the next 5 to 7 days, I think 90F is definitely attainable. Hope everyone is having a good day !!
TK didn’t mention next Wednesday in his forecast above, but that is the day as the most serious threat for thunderstorm activity. The NWS is already concerned that they could be quite severe…even at 6 days out.
Jimmy, keep us posted as always! π
Northern NY and VT are under a convective watch for tornadoes until 8pm today.
Two tornado watches up one for parts of Northern New England until 8:00 and another tornado watch just south of that until 10:00. Those areas need to keep an eye out on the sky and any warnings issued seek shelter. I don’t expect any thunderstorms in SNE today.
Philip I noticed next Wednesday as well and I’ll be keeping an eye on it and there is also a possiblity on Monday for storms. The thunderstorm index may get a work out next week.
It’s real humid out there, dew points are in the upper 60’s currently, and creeping it’s way into the house. Not good sleeping weather π
I’ve had the ac on
Charlie I was just visiting my daughter in Uxbridge and she has hers on – mostly because of allergies. It’s 88 in Uxbridge and in Framingham – and there’s that summer haze too – I did have ac on in the car
Hope everyone has a Happy and safe Memorial Day weekend and thank you to all the men and women out there past and present who have served our country. I am keeping an eye Monday for thunderstorms and will issue impacts over the weekend if thunderstorms are still in the forecast.
Getting ready to see if the Bruins will win game 7 to advance to their first cup final since 1990.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all and good luck to the Bruins………….low 50s in northern and central Maine….Portland, ME is down to 59F with a NE wind and the surface pressure in those areas is slowly rising. I wonder if coastal Mass is going to be quite cool tomorrow.
Congratulations to the Bruins and Best of Luck in the Stanley Cup Finals!
I would say Claude Julien’s job is safe at least for another year. π
Vancouver is going to be tough but it should be a good series!
Congrats to the Bruins and happy Memorial Day weekend with a very special thanks to our troops who have served and are still serving.
It’s not hot temp wise yet but it sure is humid –
Yes, a few places did bust 90 yesterday. It will happen again by Monday in some spots! I’ve updated the blog, finally! And yeah it mentions Wednesday, but it is so very too early to even worry about how strong thunderstorms would be that day. Nobody really knows the timing, or the local conditions that may affect them. And the fact that someone on TV mention we might have a severe weather threat 5 days in advance was maybe just a touch early……………………………. But that’s just my opinion. π
