Gastroenteritis has been vicious this season and lasting much longer than your standard 24-48 hours.
Don’t know if it is truly Gastroenteritis, but I have had something
going on for nearly 2 weeks now. Not severe by any stretch but an irritating nuisance.
My immune system is extremely strong so it may be keeping it at bay. I generally do not get sick.
Stick with a BRAT and clear liquid diet OS. Hope you get well! π
Honestly, not that sick. Been going to work each day and going about business as usual. Occasionally I need a bathroom nearby. π
Many thanks for the tip.
Get better os
Agreed!!
Partly cloudy temp is 50 degrees, winds r gusting in the 30’s, I think they pickup this afternoon, dmishing this evening, as always Tk thanks for the update π
It looks like the GFS is confused???
I dunno enough about such things. Just seems to be having trouble figuring
our what’s going to happen. No consistency run to run. Has a feature then the run
6 hours later loses it.
For example, 6Z run wanted to give us a few inches of snow. 12Z run has ZIPPO, NADA, NOTHING.
For mid-week it has cold and Snow just over the border into NH. That’s too close for comfort if you ask me.
We shall see.
Still 52 here. I’m pleased with that. Thought it would have dropped well below
50 by now, so I ain’t complaining.
Everything has been so close for comfort for a couple of weeks now and ZILCH. Honestly, snow may be nearby, but nothing accumulates in Boston until fall.
No, there will be a Memorial Day weekend blizzard this year. GFS 1300 hours out has been very accurate.
Doesn’t quite go out to the 4th of July, eh? π
I wanted to know what to expect.
I thought yesterday would wipe out most of my snow…..nope….just exposed how deep it really was. about 70% covered still ranging from 2″ to over a foot. The 12″+ covers about 20% of my lawn. Brutal
elevation.
gone here save for a few shady patches.
It’s brutal retrac…my yard in Quincy is bare in some spots and has at least 6inches in others. It just won’t go away…
Crazy wind down here as my chimney cap blew right off the chimney .
The lower section of a drainpipe that was loosened by my neighbors snowblower blew off and I had to chase it up the driveway.
My neighbor up the street has lost about 25 feet of rain gutter from the porch.
I raked up 80% of the front yard yesterday. (20% snow covered). Covered with Oak leaves again with today’s wind. Not complaining by any means as I got a lot of thatch up. I did lose another poplar tree at the forest line outback. It’s at a 45 angle against another one.
I got the Christmas creatures that were on the lawn out away. Today was first day ground was not frozen so I could pull stakes.
I’m down to 30% snow cover in the front yard (north) and 75% snow cover in the back yard (south). Go figure! I have some area that still have 10″ to 12″.
For me, the nearly fun sun mid afternoon on really helped out today.
I’m looking at the teleconnections and based on their projections, I’m not seeing big changes.
NAO : neutral to somewhat positive
PNA : actually been slightly negative, headed back towards neutral
AO: headed back towards positive
Meshed together, well …. I think we all know what the dominant pattern has been. I’m struggling to see how the northeast warms up appreciably if the teleconnection mix doesnt change much.
Nearly FULL sun
Also ….
More than any year recently, it has snuck up on me that regular season baseball is a day or 2 away. I’m stunned.
I’m pretty sure its the psychology of our long lasting snowcover and well below normal temps.
It seems unreal to think of playing baseball at Fenway. Too chilly !!
Baseball parade was today, they played at mason field
Another thought ….
The teleconnections have surprised me as to what has occurred with them.
If you told me we’d have a neutral to positive NAO and a positive AO, I’d have thought for sure snow would be below average and temps would be above average.
The positive PNA seems to have dominated its effect on us. A ridge out west seems more in-line with what we’ve seen.
There is a hostage/bomb threat situation currently going on at the Hopkinton Public Library. The threat appears to be credible.
Update – call out for “stand down” threat is over!!!
Oh my gosh. Thank you. Good grief.
There has been instances in Ashland and literally down the streer from us in framingham where someone has called police and reported something that requires swat approach. The one in framingham was a few days ago. I wonder I’d this is the same
Both instances were hoaxes but used huge resources
Sorry. Tons of autocorrect in that post. Think you can follow it π
Colder start today. Can’t see us getting to 50. If we get a trace of snow today, it will be 11 weekends in a row, but it’s an unlikely event.
Todayβs AccuWeather Trivia Quiz.
Which of the following is NOT a high latitude climate?
A. Polar
B. Tropical Wet and Dry
C. Tundra
D. Taiga
(Not the best worded quiz.)Answer later today.
Since I have no idea what it is I’ll say D
there is no such thing. but since you said high latitude i would say tropical, really badly worded … high latitudes im guessing means over 60 degrees north or south of the equator.
There is no Taiga in the southern hemisphere.
vicki the taiga is the large area in canada. northern europe and Asia where the primary vegetation are short root pines many areas have snow on the ground most of the year with semi permafrost only a few inches down.
Thank you Matt
I figured it was tropical but I tend to like to pick things I don’t know…..except for jeopardy. I get cut throat then π

Happy Easter
You too!
Happy Easter Everyone π
Watching the kids chip and putt at Augusta. Beautiful day there and always fun to watch these kids.
Happy Easter.
Single digits across Northern Maine earlier this morning after a winter storm brought between 3 and 8 inches of snow. Mountain snow all week throughout New England. Winter’s last stand.
I have posted a short blog update.
I have also reposted the AccuWeather quiz there.
