SUMMARY…
Yes, it can snow in April. Yes, Boston saw a few flakes early Friday morning. Nothing highly unusual. That was the result of some energy moving through the region underneath an upper level low pressure area, which will remain parked across New England and southeastern Canada into the weekend before drifting southeast and capturing a surface low offshore and driving it westward late in the weekend and early next week. This will turn the current pattern of clouds and sun with pop up showers into a more general overcast with a better chance of some wet weather by later Sunday and Monday before partial improvement takes place heading toward the middle of next week. But another low pressure area may be nearby or just to the south by the end of next week with the threat of additional unsettled weather.

TK, thank you and thanks for the previous response on climatology.
Thank you TK
Thanks TK !
Its been a great last few days of winter vacation ……. Could have headed to Fairbanks, AK for sunnier, milder weather the last few days. 🙂 🙂
How was Mystic. It is a lovely area. Oldest used to do a couple of horse shows there a year and us moms spent time enjoying the area.
It was great, thanks Vicki.
Spent most of yesterday at the Aquarium. Beluga whales are awesome.
Then today, we just kind of slowly drove back the Rhode Island coastline, checking out campgrounds and beaches …. then running back into the heated car. 🙂 🙂
Had a great time ….. But this cold weather the last 2 days ….. Arghhhhhh !!! 🙂 🙂
Sounds perfect. I have not been to the aquarium but oldest was there last year with family and loved it. Trip back sounds fun. Wish it had been warmer for you.
Thanks TK. Saw snow flurries. In my walk this morning at 8am. Not many but just enough to let you know that it still can.
At the same time it’s nothing but sun here at 8:35am lol 🙂
Yesterday not today 🙂
Big earthquake hit Nepal, outside the capitol, Kathmandu. Maybe in the 7.5 – 7.8 magnitude. Tremors are being felt in India.
Horrible. I feel for those people. Link to NY times story.

You guys are funny, I haven’t seen any snow for idk a month +. I’ve seen it snow flurry in April in NC about 10 yrs ago, is it rather rare sure, But snow flurries don’t effect anyone. anyways truck temp says 40 degrees heading to around 60 degrees,, heading out for work for a few hours.
Boston had a trace of snow yesterday.
If you want to see snow, just travel to the Riverside T stop (last stop on D line). The snow mountains from plowing are over 6 feet high, not to mention 200 feet long. Not sure if they’ll be gone by June 1st.
There are still some snow mounds in parking lots up here too, mainly hidden by sand. 😉
Winnepesauke has declared an ice out.
Cool. Was this average? OR later than average and if so by how much?
Curious. I doubt it was earlier than average.
Can anyone recommend and family friendly campground, hotel or cabin rental in the Laconia area? Looks like pumpkin festival is relocating there this year and maybe longer. It will be held on October 24th. Two adults, two children and a new born. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
We enjoyed the Summit Resort. I’m not sure if you have any children or how old they are but it is very kid friendly. The resort has an outdoor pool (seasonal) and a very cool indoor pool with small waterslide along with a hot tub. The resort also has an arcade, ping pong table, billiards and more. They also have a lounge/bar if you’d like to relax and have a cocktail. I highly recommend this place. I’m sure your family will enjoy it.
Awesome. We will have a look. Thanks!
Beautiful day!!!
Mid 40s with wind chill in the 30s as of the time you wrote that. Nobody liked it up on the soccer field. Well, I didn’t mind it, but I’m not a complainer. 😀
Charlie lives on a different planet.
If the Patriots r smart, they drop out of the 32nd pick and get a lot of #2’s
Can’t wait!! Only 5 days!!
lol
Went to a soccer game in Woburn this morning. My friend’s daughter is on the Woburn girls under 14 travel team but they were home hosting Westford. The field is atop an exposed hill and with a temp about 40 at the start and 45 by the end, the wind chill was around 30 much of the time. A sharp nip in the air for late April. After the game was over and my son and I walked around to the south side of the school which was of course in direct sun and blocking the breeze, it felt much warmer there. Went for a hot coffee right after that. 😀
Final score was Woburn 5 … Westford 0
Just hit a whopping 52 here.
Some good advice from the weather channel.

I didn’t mind posting the damage to the streets. I just can’t post damage
to buildings and worse. Just can’t do it.
I hope I never see softball hail in my life. Devastating!
The one problem with the article about severe t-storms is the part about lightning. They again give the misleading information that severe storms produce more frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. This is not the case much of the time. ANY storm can produce frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
Any guess what that Dark massive cloud is? I know, but am not telling. 😀

It’s the smoke from when you tried to make dinner and burned it. 😉
54.3 Better than yesterday at least.
Posted an update with essentially no new info. Basically a copy/paste. You can start comments there anew. 🙂
