Thanks TK. Appreciate the update! Beautiful day shaping up so far here. I’m a bit more optimistic regarding Tuesdays forecast as well as temps for the end of the week. I think we see more sun on Tuesday with passing showers and a rumble of thunder as the cold front crosses. I think it’s progressive. We shall see :D. Enjoy your Sunday.
Thanks TK !
We are just about to re-emerge into sunshine, after about a 1 hr cloudy stretch.
Slight seabreeze has set in, but not quite as cold as the last couple of days.
Perfect conditions here in Roslindale. I could every day like this adding about 8-10 degrees during the summer and I would be a happy camper.
Beautiful day today.
Was out from 8AM this morning till now fishing again.
It was cloudy until about 10 is or so.
68 here and climbing and unless I am numb, the wind is SW and NOT EAST
at the moment anyway. π
Were the fish biting ?
Oh yeah they were. Thank you for asking. I caught 36 fish, including nine (9) Largemouth Bass, of which five (5) were rather big with one being about 4 pounds and near 20 inches long. Twas a good day.
Wow. Well done.
Nice job OS !!
π
Noon at the airport, Wind EAST at 10 with temp at 58.
Better than yesterday, that’s for sure.
The 12z GFS is encouraging for warmth next weekend.
Looking forward to seeing what does or doesnt develop off of the SE US coastline this week and if it does, whether its tropical or hybrid and where it might end up ?
A perfect 71 degrees here. Idyllic weekend.
Actually dropped off to 67.8 here, obviously we have caught the EAST WIND.
Hopefully, it will remain light and we’ll stay near this level. I told my wife yesterday that it would be 65-70 at our house, possibly falling off some in the afternoon.
The wind is fairly strong.
60 at the airport at 1PM wind 100 Degrees at 12.7 MPH.
74 here and climbing
68.5 here. Close, but not there. π
But I’ll take it for certain!!!
absolutely, but clouds approaching with nearby shortwave.
78
Its really warmed up in Marshfield and the airport is reporting 68F, which seems reasonable.
59 with NE wind at Logan. I suppose it’s not THAT bad considering the wind direction. But as my friend would say, “Logan is a PIT!”
I do think some showers make metro NW & W between now and 5PM before they fade out.
What the seabreeze takes away …… Sometimes it gives back …..
Perfectly sunny here. π
72 here !!!!
We made it!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!
Down to 74. Cool breeze and a small cell to our northwest bringing in clouds and wind
HUH?

Need a better explanation than that!!
Sea Breeze front from the South? Sure it can keep it a tad cooler, but calling
it a sea breeze front this far from the ocean 70 miles South of here??????
C’mon
Hmmm Norwood dropped from 75 to 67.
We’re still at 71.6
Logan 61 with Wind at 060 Degrees.
Kids were at Humarock. Car had mid 70s Pembroke. 70 just off the ocean. And about 10-15 deg colder on beach.
Looks as if most of the cell is staying to our west. I’m sitting out until I feel rain π
They are correct. See below.
If it was a sea breeze originating along the South Coast, even if it makes it as far north as Boston, it is still a sea breeze. They are correct.
Think of Florida, for example. Sea breeze fronts can traverse the entire state. I’ve seen one originate on the East Coast of FL and reach Tampa! Not a direct sea breeze as far as Tampa is concerned, but still, by definition, a sea breeze.
Still pretty solid evidence of a cold frontal passage Tuesday morning (not afternoon as advertised) and a second front either straight N to S or more likely back-door NE-SW on Wednesday. The warmth will NOT be sustained in all areas all week.
Perhaps not all but most areas will be 70+ all week west of 95. Compared with what we’ve experienced (clouds and 50s), even 60s along the coast ain’t too shabby;)
My point was really that a lot of people near the coast and where a lot of the population is will be wondering where the 70s & 80s are because many alluded to this lasting all week. It will be generally nice, even there, in comparison. This was never really in doubt. If we end up with a stronger high to the north than currently progged, then things will be different.
Great heavy sun shower.

77 in Orlando . There was a breeze all day.
John enjoy your trip down in Florida. How is the humidity down there?
You could feel it but felt great considering standing outside at curbside checkin this morning at Logan as it was chilly. Looks to be a good week down here with 90s by weeks end .
It was at 44% the humidity.
I know your vacation will be perfect. Wish I were there but so happy for you that you are
Thanks Vicki. No sleep for anybody last night with excitement so early bed tonight cause I’m seeing double. Just coming off I think mini flu that just hit me out of no where Friday afternoon as well so I need some rest.
I could remember going down to Florida in May where those dew points were up there in 70s.
Tomorrow is looking like a good day here to take a vacation day with those temps near 80.
Will be doing The Week Ahead in a while. Still getting some odds & ends down around the house and just enjoyed the results of the first grilling of the season. π Just hot dogs but yum!
A few previews…
No major changes to thinking. The coast will be coolest of course this week, but even the eastern coastal areas will share in some significant warmth on Monday! Tuesday may not see a whole lot of sunshine. Wednesday is a wildcard pending the strength and push of a second boundary. If we can get high pressure to shift a little more south versus north then the boundary will wash out and we won’t get the cooler air to get that far inland. Not quite sure how Thursday-Sunday pan out yet. Too many opportunities to get ocean wind in parts of the region.
We have an interesting possibility near or just after mid month when we may see some last-gasp cold air in Canada battling with some genuine heat trying to build in the eastern US. That could make for some severe weather threats. Something to monitor in the coming days.
Can’t wait to start tracking thunderstorms.
TK I remembering you saying a few weeks ago you felt there could be some thunderstorms that COULD be on the strong side early in this summer season. Do you still feel that could happen.
I do. Enough cold air left in Canada and probably several intrusions of jet stream energy with cold air aloft should make it unstable especially early season.
Spent some time down on Ellisville Harbor in Plymouth this afternoon. There has been a pod of whales that have been hanging out there and it was cool to see them so close to shore. Between the whales and seals it was quite a sight to behold. It was 60 degrees and lots of sun.
I get excited for the very occasional seal at Hum. I can’t imagine seeing the whales also. What a treat
Ever since they cleaned up Boston Harbor and Mass Bay the sea life has flourished. I recall in the early 60s when there was nothing but mackerel and flounder in the inner harbor. Once the water improved, and, perhaps, it warmed up a little, we had blues and then stripers and then seals and then everything. Nature will heal if we just let it.

Severe weather watch for fire danger. They are citing low humidity and wind
