  1. Thanks TK! It was so dark this morning that my boys were convinced I woke them up in the middle of the night for school.

    Go Pats!

      1. I suppose it help that I was 1/2 asleep or should I say totally asleep. 😆 😆

        C’mon, Just kidding around!

  2. I measured .77 of an inch of rain. Measurement was taken at 7:15am. There may have been another .02 since then. My guess is that towns to our south got more.

    1. Hmm

This is not official, but adding up the 6 hour totals from Logan Observations
since yesterday yields a total of 1.77 inches, which seems more reasonable
than 0.77 inch. .77 just seems way too low.

  3. There was a Thursday and they decided to have a football game!
    Pats vs Dolphins

Should be a great game. I WANT a Pats blow out!! I didn’t get it with Indy
and didn’t expect one with the Jets. I want a blow out badly!

  4. I changed my 1-2 isolated heavier to 0.5 to 1.5 when in fact it should have been 0.5 to 2.5. 😉

  5. If we could have many days like this up to thanksgiving, that would be great!! Beautiful day!!!! 🙂

  6. If we could have many days like this up to thanksgiving, that would be great!! Beautiful day!!!! 🙂 🙂

  7. Must say I’m a little concerned about dirty hits on Brady tonight. Miami is already talking about “going after” Brady and Suh is well known for controversial hits. I hope the O-Line is on its A game tonight.

    1. I think the Pats have a plan. They know what you say is a possibility.
Rapid release of the football is the way to go.

I expect the Pats to put up a significant number of points.

If it is a really low scoring gane, I will be most disappointed.

It never goes the way I expect or want.

      PATS 42-24

  8. Just was out at lunch. My car thermometer was reading 77 Degrees.
It’s usually a little high when it is bright and sunny. YUMMY OUT THERE!

    It’s 72 at Logan
    73 Bedford
    75 Norwood

    😀

  9. I have a friend who lives fairly close to me – in Charlestown – and he’s a weather buff. He measured 1.12. My measurement of .77 may be under, but I don’t think it’s that far off. It never rained hard in Back Bay. Perhaps a squall or two overnight. I’m a very light sleeper and hear everything, which also means hardly sleep.

    1. Certainly very possible.

I’m in JP and it poured buckets. I’d be curious to see what
      Hadi measured.

  10. priorities are getting in the way of watching the fins and pats game tonight. stupid chem lab

Looks like a ridge in the east, trough in the west type of set up forming. with acasional times of the ridge weakening and drawing down some of the cooler air.

  11. Hard to believe 4 years ago today we had the biggest October snowfall on record and a year later on same date Super Storm Sandy.

  12. I like being able to leave the windows open so I can hear the wind blowing the leaves around. It seems gustier than last night with wind in the high 20s

    1. I’m curious to understand why there are bad runs. I assume the model itself doesn’t change from one point in time to another. I.e., same set of variables, just with different sets of observational and projected data.

      1. There can be many reasons. It can make a bias error that perpetuates problems on the entire run. More often than not it’s a bad or missing piece of data.

These models are very far from fail-safe.

  13. Vicki, I do the same with my windows. Love to hear what’s going on outside weather-wise. It also airs out my condominium. Bostons not an especially windy place. The Netherlands, gets a ton of wind during the fall and winter. It often howls. The wind storms associated with powerful Atlantic lows – by the way, not much in terms of moisture, mostly spit and drizzle – are the one weather event that we really don’t get here that often and are very common in the Netherlands, British Isles, Ireland, and probably most of Scandinavia. I imagine the closest simile in New England to Dutch fall and winter weather is Nantucket. I’ve heard the wind there can be ferocious. Not much in terms of snow. Not much in terms of extreme cold. But, a lot of wind and a lot of gray skies in late fall and winter.

    1. Thank you Joshua. That was fun to read. I would love to visit Sweden. Mad has such fond memories even though he was young.

    1. That’s ok. It went to moderation anyway. Something WordPress does even if you change one character in your username or email. 😉
