Saturday Forecast

2:51AM

DAYS 1-5 (DECEMBER 5-9)…
High pressure dominates through Monday with fair and mild weather. Low pressure to the south of the region is expected to be close enough for cloudiness but not close enough for wet weather as we head into the middle of next week.
TODAY: Sunny. Highs 48-55. Wind light W.
TONIGHT: Clear. Areas of frost and ground fog. Lows 25-30 interior valleys, 30-35 elsewhere. Calm wind.
SUNDAY: Sunny. Highs 55-62. Wind light SW.
MONDAY: Partly sunny. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 50s.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 40s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 40s.

DAYS 6-10 (DECEMBER 10-14)…
Watch for a weak weather system to bring a risk of rain showers around December 12, otherwise generally dry weather and above normal temperatures will dominate.

DAYS 11-15 (DECEMBER 15-19)…
One or two weak systems may bring a rain or snow shower depending on timing, otherwise a continuation of the dry and mild pattern will go on.

    1. I slept right after I posted until 8AM. 😀 That’s more than enough for me!

Was doing some late night shopping with Em & Lyn before we went back to Lyn’s to watch the Bruins on DVR-delay. Who needs guy friends when you hang out with ladies that love hockey? 😀

  1. Thanks TK.
Its nice seeing the snow picture. Hopefully there will be some snow before Christmas.
First Saturday of December and I am going golfing.

    1. I’m getting the feeling that IF we do see it before Christmas, it will be barely in time. And that might take some “luck”. 😉

  2. Good and beautiful morning, everyone!
Earliest sunset of the year this afternoon (4:13 here in Taunton)!

    Have a great weekend!
    Thanks, TK!
    Go Pats!

  3. Good morning!! Thanks tk 🙂

Sunset is 1 min later tomorrow, and for me, that is positive. 🙂

Still don’t see much, if any snow for the foreseeable future, and again that is positive. I do wish everyone a happy Saturday. I’ll be very busy with outside work for a good part of the day. 🙂

  4. Good morning all and thank you TK.

Great party last night. Took nearly an hour to get from my house to the
water front at rush hour last evening (perhaps 5 miles tops, even a little less). Only about 20 minutes to get home. 😀

      1. Oh well, I guess it was too good to be true. Sorry, links do not
work. They did when I tested while I had the wundermap open.
Perhaps someday they’ll fix that. Sure!

          1. As the models are beginning to indicate, subtle changes appear to be on the way.

It’s December 5th. Certainly not time to throw in the towel for this month. I’m willing to bet my entire fortune (well, that ain’t much, but oh well) that we’ll have accumulating snow in Boston sometime this month.

            1. We stay the way we are now for quite a while yet. The models almost always indicate the change too soon – especially the GFS.

  5. Our latest sunset (4:11) is this Wednesday! I read somewhere years ago that technically the time is 4:11:30 and never gets to exactly 4:11 pm.

Charlie…stop rushing things. I would love to know where you get your wx stats. 😉

  6. Just remember –last December we had .3 inches of snow and the word “putrid” was used multiple times on this blog to describe the winter.

  7. Just got in from golfing on the first weekend of December. I remember a couple first weekends in December getting a good dumping of snow in 2003 and 1996.

  8. Looks like 12Z Euro smelled the coffee and woke up re: 12/9.
Now showing an OTS system, way OTS. 😀

    1. I was tempted to say 12/9 for the first inch in boston as I said in my prediction but there are only so many times storms can hit on the same date….right???

  9. Hi Vicki….. I played a nine hole par 3 golf course that I play a lot during the year. I just missed a chip in for a par by a foot but chipped one in from just off the green for a bogey. It was nice to be out getting some fresh air in December. I am kind of torn since I am enjoying the extra time to play golf this year but at the same time I want snow.

    1. Sounds as if you had a GREAT game. Enjoy the golf. Snow will be here soon enough ❄️❄️❄️❄️

    1. They got that a lot in the 1990s too. I remember tracking them during the North Atlantic shipping forecast.

      1. Indeed, there were many historic storms during the 90s in that part of the world. I lived in Holland during the 80s and 90s. On my long drive to work I listened to BBC 4 on longwave radio (for some reason the Blaupunkt radio my VW was equipped with had a longwave option). BBC 4 was mostly a news station, but every hour they’d give the shipping news and weather forecast. You were probably one of the persons responsible for providing data for the shipping forecast. The shipping reports included warnings (every day it seemed there were warnings) and reports from ports, oil rigs, and stations/areas of sea and ocean with strange-sounding names:
