DAYS 1-5 (OCTOBER 12-16)…
Warm front passes the region early today, and a cold front waits until Thursday evening to pass through from west to east. Between the two, we’ll be in a milder airmass, and you’ll even feel a bit of October humidity on Thursday, prior to the arrival of the cold front. This front will be moisture-starved, so don’t expected any beneficial rain, rather just a few possible light showers. Behind the front comes cooler weather for Friday and the weekend.
TODAY: Early high clouds give way to sun. Highs 60-68. Wind S to SW 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear evening. Developing clouds overnight. Lows 50-58. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY: Clouds dominate the morning. Sun and clouds in the afternoon. More clouds and a risk of rain showers in the evening. Highs 64-72. Wind SW 10-20 MPH.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows 38-45. Highs 57-64.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows 32-41. Highs 57-64.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows 30-44, coolest interior valleys. Highs 59-66.
DAYS 6-10 (OCTOBER 17-21)…
Fair with a milder trend early in the period. Brief rain risk followed by a shot of much cooler air mid to late period.
DAYS 11-15 (OCTOBER 22-26)…
Temperatures variable but averaging above normal, with a fairly dry pattern as we head for late October.
Thank you, TK. The mist/fog settling over the valleys this morning was spectacular. Beautiful morning!
Good morning and thank you TK.
What a beautiful day! We have had quite a few of these this year, that’s for sure.
Another 10 in my opinion. 😀
For any music aficionados out there. Here is a 1983 appearance of REM on the David Letterman show. Their very 1st Television appearance. This is AWESOME!

Thanks TK !
Climatologically, the GFS’ long range tropical system in the far western Caribbean doesn’t seem out of the norm. Interesting to see if it’s still there in about a week.
Thank you TK!
Hopefully Bermuda comes out with not too much damage. I believe Nicole will be at least a cat 2 if not already.
Thank you.

I’m surprised at how well Nicole is doing. When the sun rises on the visible, you can see all that broken stratus to the west of the storm, which I take as relatively cooler, drier air all to Nicole’s west. I’d thought some of that being entrained into the hurricane might have kept it in check. But, evidently not.
And looking at the satellite, I’m guessing the next recon plane may find this to be a major hurricane. Central dense overcast looks impressive, cloud tops cooling, symmetric storm with an eye that is much less ragged.
My father-in-law shot this photo this morning. Current view from the family farm house in central Italy. First glimpse of snow covering the Appenini Mountains. Time to pick the olives!

I know this is a weather blog, but there is alot of sports talk and stuff as well, So here is something related to sports. There are talks of getting rid of College marching band half time shows. I am sorry, but they should honestly give more time for the college bands. To be honest I feel like half times of all college and all NFL half times should go back to marching bands. True musicans, who play for the crowd and the crowd only. None of this crap that comes out for money. Marching bands make money from Parades not shows. I include the half time show of the superbowl.
They should never get rid of the marching bands.
Agree. Really sad it is a consideration
Back to Boston tomorrow.
Safe travels!!
Direct flight on Alaska Air. 5.5 hours.
Looks like decent weather for the next 7 days. Looks like low to mid 60’s. I’ll take it. 65 right now in San Diego. Light breeze. Long sleeve t, shorts and flip flops. Locals in long pants and light jackets. I’ve been here in January when it was 55-60 and these folks are freezing. It’s all what you’re used to. I’ll miss the palm trees.
Agree that it is sure what you are used to. Glad you had a nice time. Direct flights are GREAT
