  1. Soupy this morning. Could not see neighborhood as I returned from daughter’s house this am. Very thick. Was clear in Uxbridge.

  2. Thanks TK. For the first time in awhile, there’s a bit of improvement in the drought monitor for MA this morning. The extreme drought area has been cut back from over 50% of the state to under 40%. Long way to go though, with little additional relief in sight.

  3. NC still having major flooding and Pacific northwest has two storms headed its way. Although our news seems to have forgotten there is anything to discuss outside of politics.

    1. At this point it’s just time to let the voters do what they must and be done with it.

Many important things are being ignored.

        1. hehe – I am referring to other world news outside of politics and suspect TK may be also but cannot speak for him.

  4. GFS and Euro hinting at a fairly sizeable east coast storm next weekend. Will see if it actually materializes and can deliver another good dose of rain. 12z GFS has some winter like wind and cold in its wake with northern NE snow as the storm bombs out in eastern Canada.

  5. Really enjoyed the mildness of today. We sat on the deck late this afternoon, very comfortable. 60s in October is something I really enjoy, compared to last
Monday which fealt a little too chilly too early.

    1. Very interesting. This has been a hot topic on Felger and Mazz and WEEI. Lots of opinions on what’s causing it. I tend to side with the matchups and the idea that there are a lot of boring games out there. Also, Peyton retiring and suspending Brady hasn’t helped the ratings either.

      1. I agree. I don’t go with the Kaepeenick (sp) thing. Really…people keep watching when they are wife beaters and stop for a peaceful protest. And you can tell I was in the car back and forth to newton today so heard a lot of sports radio 🙂

  6. According to Eric, widespread killing frost for tomorrow night!

Only Boston and Cape not included. Maybe next month. I believe the normal freeze for Boston is around November 7th.

    1. Yup, another chilly night coming.

Noticing a pattern in early autumn, chilly shots followed by inside runners. Wonder if it is a trend to a deep winter pattern of a day struggling to get to 10F followed by a storm of snow quickly changing to rain.

On the positive side for those rooting for cold or snow, Siberia snow cover at this early stage looks to be running somewhat above average, if I am interpreting the data from the Rutgers snow lab correctly.

    1. Clear and turning chilly. Probably should dress for very cool weather tomorrow evening. Hope it’s a fun trip !!

      1. Great timing. Just talking to daughter in FL. Some should pick anything left in her veggie garden tomorrow whether ripe or no? Thank you TK

        1. If you’re in any lower areas away from the city or the immediate sure, yes. The rest should be ok with a cover-up.

  7. I find it interesting that frost/freeze warnings are almost commonplace in Boston during April and May but takes forever this time of year. In some years not until near Thanksgiving or even early December.
