Its 43F atop the summit of Mt Washington ………
We’re having a heat wave….she certainly can can-can!!
And us old people think the young music is risque!! 😉
Thank you, TK.
Thank you TK!
Good morning and thank you TK.
Dr. Cohen has posted his new Blog:
https://www.aer.com/science-research/climate-weather/arctic-oscillation
He predicts a cold Winter, however, not without some caveats. We shall see.
Good read …. I lasted about half way through 🙂 Very in depth in his explanations.
It’s amazing stuff. True, it is a long complicated read, but If you have the time, it is well worth it. Well worth it.
During the Winter, I look forward to reading that blog each and every week. I used to get a notification email, but for some reason I am not currently receiving those. I just know to look each
Tuesday. Time varies. Sometimes I don’t see it until evening on my mobile device. 😀
I’ll have to pay more attention to them going forward. I must admit to not reading a lot of his blogs in past winters.
It is a must read for any weather enthusiast with a bit more technical knowledge than the average person AND most especially so if one is a Winter Weather enthusiast.
😀
If it lost Tom, I figure I am sunk. But I’ll give it a try later this afternoon!
What did he say for this area . I would strongly take what he has to say serious . He is Good.
No response
He’s ok. Just thinks a little much of himself.
I know that today’s forecasted high temps are already quite high, given that it is Nov 2nd.
Still, I wonder if the temps may overachieve given the warm airmass (summit of Mt Washington temp in the low 40s), visible and infrared satellite seem to indicate potential for some sunshine the next several hours and so far, the surface winds are holding SW ……..
Agreed. We shall see.
My office was HOT and I had to turn down the thermostat which of course
wasn’t even in my office!!!
What a day.
68F at Logan, seabreeze being held off.
Come on 70F !!!!
71.1 here
And 70F at Logan.
It’s warmer outside than inside 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Darn – but you are right. I have windows open and just noticed that it is still cool in the house.
And well done, Logan.
I got 71 at home
Despite the hard freeze, grass seed continue to germinate and seedlings continue to mature. It appears that one or two freezes does not kill seedlings. A sustained freeze is what is necessary at least in my experience this fall.
The 2-3 week pattern has been playing pretty well predictable of late. We’re now into the much anticipated very warm start to November across most of the Lower 48. The center of warmth will be well to our west out across the central US. In fact, we’ll be alternating regularly between above and below normal for the next 10-15 days as occasional disturbances drop through, providing sizable temperature swings but little precipitation. TK’s forecast sums that up.
Towards and beyond mid-month, indications are quite strong that the expansive ridging centered over the central and west-central US will give way to troughing across the central and eastern US, likely leading to a cooler and possibly stormier period for us.
My forecasts have been so anemic lately while I’ve been sick, I’m surprised they sum up anything. 😉
Hope you’re feeling better!
I wish you could just shut everything down and rest.
And TK at your worst, you are far far better than anyone else at his or her best. Please take care of yourself. Hugs
My moms God’s fingernail is in the sky tonight. Joined by Saturn and also Venus. No surprise as it is my younger brothers angel day and my mom would make her presence very known
On November 11, Mac’s angel day, we will have the Taurid meteor showers. Hosted by my brother who was a Taurus. Fanciful?? Maybe. But no one can convince me otherwise. 🙂
It is the spirit that gives life… 🙂
What a beautiful thing to say. Thank you.
Nasty line moving through Illinois right now. Looks like that system will move this way and to the south of us tomorrow evening.
Too quickly to be the Thursday thunder TK mentioned ??
Am I the only person in MA rooting for the Cubs.
Go Cubs
I’d like to see them win but I’m happy either way.
I agree although the Cubs are my choice by a bit
So I recall MassBay wa also rooting for Cubs? It is late…I may be dreaming 😉
Vicki– You won’t believe this but I was rooting for a 7 game series and a 7th game that went 10 innings. Leaning Tribe but happy for either to win. Go Cubbies 🙂
I do believe it and you nailed it. I sadly fell asleep but am happy for Cubs !
And that was what I think of as a true series
CUBS WIN!!! 😀
New post…
Good day all.
