Wednesday Forecast

2:47AM

DAYS 1-5 (NOVEMBER 9-13)
Cold front number 1 passes through the region today with lots of clouds and some rain showers. The greatest risk for rain showers will be mainly from Boston south, and a period of rain may occur later in the day over Cape Cod and the Islands as a wave of low pressure forms. A small high pressure area will move in Thursday with fair weather, and then a strong cold front will move rapidly north to south across the region during Friday, Veterans Day. This front will not have much moisture to work with but it will create quite a bit of wind during its passage and continued windy conditions afterward as cold air flows in during Friday night and into Saturday. A high pressure area to the west of the region as the chilly northerly wind occurs will then sink to the south and turn the winds to the west on Sunday when it will warm up slightly.
TODAY: Mostly cloudy with a passing rain shower morning and midday Boston-Providence corridor northwest, then a better chance of showers to the southeast midday and afternoon. Highs 50-58. Wind light W to NW.
TONIGHT: Clearing. Lows 28-35. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 48-55. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
FRIDAY: Sun early, a period of clouds and perhaps a passing rain shower from north to south, then clearing later. Lows 27-35. Highs 50-58 but turning colder later.
SATURDAY: Partly cloudy. Windy. Lows 25-34. Highs 42-50.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Breezy. Lows 25-34. Highs 50-58.

DAYS 6-10 (NOVEMBER 14-18)
Fair and milder early in the period. There remains some uncertainty about the evolution of the next low pressure area mid to late period. Leaning toward a progressive system with some rain showers followed by dry weather again at the very end of the period. But cannot rule out a slower-moving system around November 17.

DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 19-23)
Still have low confidence but looks like a fairly dry pattern with changeable temperatures.

  1. I was hoping I was in a Bad dream, the so called excited weather stuff, seems to have calmed down and then there is the presidency…

    1. Bad dream? It’s a nightmare!!! I am SICK. I’ll leave it at that before I go off the deep end and get tossed from here.

      1. thats why I added the weather portion lol Im sick as well, I am literally not feeling good and have a headache.

  2. According to the NWS climate data for Boston, a trace of snow was recorded this month to date. Did I miss something? What day or night did this occur?

    1. Must be the graupel showers on this past Sunday. It put 0.06 in my rain
gauge and I drove through one of those showers, so it happened.

      1. Thanks. I had no idea of any frozen precip that day, but then I was indoors most of the time other than mid-morning and early evening briefly.

  3. Can anyone tell me the time of the Friday frosty fropa?

I am going to the last Friday night football game of the season this weekend.

    1. I believe late morning to early afternoon. Could be very windy Friday evening, so as temps fall through 40s, the wind may make it feel a lot colder.

  4. I hope it’s ok to do a little politicking …….

Just focusing on policy, it’s going to be interesting, more interesting in fact, to see how Trump policy and GOP policy get along. I’m not so sure it’s going to be a smoothe marriage.

Take for example his acceptance speech last night. He detailed how he wants to reinvest in and rebuild our infrastructure. He has said this on the campaign trail as well. That’s mostly, if not entirely a democrat policy. Republicans rarely want to invest in infra structure, they seem to loathe that.

Yes, Trump seems more in line with the GOP on taxes and immigration, so there will be some overlap, but I actually think on a few issues, such as infrastructure investment, he may get more congressional democrat support than republican support.

    Interesting times ahead.

    1. You brave, brave man. Frankly, I think we all should have written you in.

On a serious note. Good comments, Tom. A lot of Trump is showmanship and he did it well. He used the media brilliantly. The fact that it may not be a smooth marriage may be a positive for the country. We need some form of check and balance.

Reinvesting and rebuilding our infrastructure is something that helped us out of the great depression. Strengthening our immigration laws is not a bad thing if done with respect for those who are here and who have contributed to our society, and it is done in line with our constitution. You are also correct in that Trump has always been more moderate. At the moment, I am choosing to believe that much of what he said was part of his marketing gimmick. We all know I can be a “bit” of a Pollyanna.

I termed my state of mind prior to the election a conscience in crisis. Post-election, I’ll move to optimistically terrified. The bottom line, as I suspect you have seen me say on FB, is that we have a new president come January. Like him or not, if we do not work together and stop the obstructionism and partisanship, we will fail. And that failure will land on all of our heads. Not just the democrats. Not just the republicans. Not just Trump. Not just Congress.

Except of course those of us who are independent/moderate who have all of the answers 🙂

      1. I say we should put up a Tom / Vicki ticket in 4 years. Can’t get much better than that.

  5. I am glad this election stuff is over with. The future is anyone’s guess. But admittedly, it’s a bit scary. However, for the past 2 wks. I have had a bad cold and am still sick with it – lots of coughing. And to top it off, in the middle of the cold I find out I have kidney stones. Still waiting for the one to pass – (sorry if this is grotesque) if it’s even still there. Seeing a different urologist next wk. So, my emotions re: this election are not as strong as they would be. Feeling too lousy. I just hope and I have been praying for our country; and I hope (if it’s humanly possible) we can all get along. Kinda doubting that ‘though, knowing human nature. Ok – off my soapbox. Have a great day everyone.

    1. Rainshine….just awful. I am sorry to hear you are still struggling with that stone and cold. I agree completely with your sentiments in regard to this country.

  6. I was somewhat surprised yesterday to still see political ads. I believe in years past, those ads would be gone on Election Day itself. I would think that most voters have their minds made up one way or the other by October on most issues. Just glad it is over finally.

    1. The bad part is that some of the shows I am watching were recorded; and if I don’t get to the remote before the ads appear, I get to hear them again….and again.

  7. Wow on the election. I did like Hillary and the presidents speach today. I feel many people were caught off guard with the results because were they get there news from, the typical sources and don’t do there home work. Give the guy a chance…… let’s see what he can do.

  8. In a discussion of polls, one individual made the comment that the information we get from polls is only as good as the model they use.

Sound familiar to anyone? I literally laughed out loud
