As expected, some showers did move southward across northeastern MA & the Metro Boston area Thursday evening. This activity is now gone and that will lead to a Friday that is mostly bright and sunny, with the exception of some fair-weather clouds popping up during the late morning into the afternoon especially from just inland of the coast to around Route 495. These clouds should dissipate from east to west during the course of the day, except perhaps in the western reaches of the 495 belt, as a sea breeze develops and stable air overtakes much of the region. The rest of the discussion is unchanged from the previous post.

Good Morning and what a perfect start to the day. I heard (while still half asleep) the comment that today clouds will form from “self destructive sunshine” I may be quoting that incorrectly but had never heard the term – something about the sun forming its own clouds??
Thank you, Tom, for leading me to the spot where I could find the days over 90. So far it seems the days are June 9, July 4, 6, 11 & 12 (5) as Tom had said. I think my 9 is a bit low – or wishful thinking :)))
Tom have you ever done the Pemigewasset Wilderness Backpack Loop – or has anyone? My son txt’d me this morning to say he and three friends are doing it in reverse this weekend. Rainshine I believe you are up in that area this weekend too. The weather looks great for hikes.
Hi Vicki,
No, we have not gotten to that loop. Sounds like fun. Great weekend weather for it.
Summer weather at its best in my opinion yesterday, today, and tomorrow! I love opening the windows and letting in mother nature’s air conditioning!
Another great summer weekend is on tap for us. Storm Prediction Center has us in the slight risk for severe weather on Monday with the passage of the cold front. Early call for Monday and this could change but I am going with MODERATE Level Activity which is a 2 on the 1-4 thunderstorm index meaning isolated severe weather is possible. All attention will turn to a POTENTIAL heat wave for late next week for parts of SNE.
Hi JJ.
Exactly on that heatwave. Wow, if today’s outlook on the 0z GFS 850 mb temps stay consistent for a few runs, that looks like 95-100F for a few days in southern New England late next week.
