DAYS 1-5 (FEBRUARY 19-23)
We’ll have a mild time! The above normal temperature pattern is here and will continue through the next several days. A very mild Sunday will be followed by a cooler Monday (Presidents Day) but not significantly cold. Temperature rebound through midweek. The only issue will be the threat of a little rain and freezing rain Tuesday night from a weak disturbance passing by.
THIS AFTERNOON: Partly cloudy. Highs 48-56. Wind W 10-20 MPH, higher gusts.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 26-33. Wind NW 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.
MONDAY – PRESIDENTS DAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 37-44. Wind NW 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.
TUESDAY: Sun followed by clouds. Risk of light rain / ice at night. Lows 18-25. Highs 38-45.
WEDNESDAY: Clouds followed by sun. Chance of rain showers early. Lows 30-38. Highs 50-58.
THURSDAY: Partly cloudy. Lows 30-38. Highs 50-58.
DAYS 6-10 (FEBRUARY 24-28)
A mild start and colder finish to this period with some unsettled weather, mainly rain showers, in between.
DAYS 11-15 (MARCH 1-5)
March begins colder with at least one threat of rain/mix/snow in the first several days of the month.
TK, thank you for the update.
Goos afternoon and thank you TK.

Great day today in the weather department. My wife enjoyed quite a bit of time in the spa today while I worked on getting some xmas things ready for storage . We have a lot of outside stuff to put away.
Last Sunday at this time this blog was lit up like a Christmas tree, as Jimmy would say. What a difference a week makes. 🙂
So true this blog was lighting up like a Christmas tree last Sunday and during the blizzard. Hopefully will get one more snowstorm before we close the books on winter.
Sitting here reminiscing.
Came across this old tune that would even get me on the dance floor and believe me
that takes some doing. LOVE this tune from Traffic and it features Dave Mason
and Steve Winwood. 😀 😀 😀

Great song. Was just dancing around the kitchen to the credence Clearwater pandora station while I made meatballs so this song fit right in
Truth is, blooming of crocuses and a few other flowers in January & February is not entirely unusual. It just doesn’t happen every season. A solidly mild January can do it, or at least set it up so that if you have a few very mild days in February they will pop.
That may be, but I haven’t see it in a long time. 😀
Pretty cool.
Snowdrops came up in my backyard late last month. They usually don’t come until this month at the earliest.
There was a widespread bloom in January of 2010 I believe. Also in 1990 if I recall correctly. That was a very warm January.
Bulbs had been consistently arriving earlier each year until we moved in framingham. Stretching from originally in mid April to February. I have no reference here for early bulbs. I do know when we moved in March 25 that crocuses were just past.
59F on a day in February that’s had some snow cover and a few hours of decent mid level cloudiness …….
Just like 1983. Got clocked with snow, then it went into the 60s about 3 days during February vacation. You could literally hear the snow melting.
Hey wait, wasn’t summer of 1983 one of the hottest, also right into a good chunk of September ?
Why yes it was. A woman in her first trimester would not quickly forget that.
We also had an amazing feb vacation in either 1990 or was it 89. And March surrounding the 18th in 2012. And a marathon Monday in 20?? AND April vacation in early 2000s. If I were not being lazy, I’d figure out dates.
Although have no idea how those Summer’s were
Hopefully those early March threats will be more snow/mix than rain. I really would like to see Logan get to “normal ” snowfall (43.8). With water temps so high, Boston needs an almost perfect setup for an all or mostly event. Last Sunday was a perfect example of a not-so-perfect setup.
all or mostly snow event
I checked my pictures quickly. Even in March 2015 with as much snow as we had on the ground, my daffodils were up about 3/4 inch on March 8.
GFS showing a s**tload of cutters for the entre run.
been saying that for a while
The mild pattern is back, so yes there will be a series of them.
Marshfield hit 63 today, the highest in all of NE…congrats Tom! 🙂
Boston thinking of a seawall for Boston Harbor.
Not sure where winter might come back at this point. Next 15 days put us into early March and then it’s tough to get much snow. I am just about to declare it over but want to wait a few days before doing so.
Remember a couple weeks ago when the models showed “no snow” for the middle of February? 😀
I do seem to recall that. I also would like to declare Vicki’s Internal weather station as sadly lacking.
Thanks, TK.
Not a fan of 60F in February, but it’s weather and there’s nothing we can do about it. I do hope we get at least a few more crisp, cold days in March. But, that may be asking for too much. While we had a few tastes of winter, it packed very little punch this year.
You’ll find plenty of March chill. Trust me.

Was way too busy with work last week to be on here much, but it looks like this week will be much quieter. My Weekly Outlook was just posted with how quiet I expect it to be: https://stormhqblog.wordpress.com/2017/02/20/weekly-outlook-february-20-26-2017/
New post! Will also re-post SAK’s link there.
