  1. Good morning And thanks TK.

NOT disappointed in the Bruins. They played the series really tough with their
roster decimated. With a full compliment of players, they win that series. 😀

Generally, save for one game, Not even disappointed with Rask.

      1. I hope Cassidy becomes the permanent coach. The B’s can’t do much worse and he got as much as he could out of them down the stretch into the playoffs.

  2. Thanks TK !

I woke up at 6:10am this morning and the sun was already above my neighbor’s roof across the street. It is so much easier to wake up and motivate to go with the light.

      1. If we were under normal “standard” time, the sun would be up even earlier! DST is totally stupid at ANY time of year IMHO!

        1. It has some good points.

I have waivered back and forth on this. I think I am OK
with it at the moment. I might adjust the start and end time some, but other than that, I’d keep it. (I might feel
          differently tomorrow)

          1. If DST were in winter…8:14 am sunrises!

UGH!!! Leave home in the dark…arrive to work/school in the dark. Would you want that?

Awhile back I had a job that I had to be at work every day at 6:00 am, and that is what my winter was like. The company went out of business after a year, but I really liked the job itself.

            1. Whatever the sun says above given the location should be our standard time for the entire nation coast-to-coast IMHO.

            2. Who said anything about that. I said I would adjust the start and end times. NEVER did I say let’s have it in Winter.

  3. I haven’t had a chance to really look at the 00z EURO ….

At least according to the GFS, the upcoming week or weeks will feature a recurring SE Ridge, along with a reloading northern plains/intermountain region trof. Along the contrast/battle zone between the 2 would be the storm track.

Some initial trends show episodes of warm frontal showers followed by warm sectors into southern New England, with heavy spring rains in the northern Ohio Valley up to northwestern New England ….. and perhaps bouts of severe weather in the lower Mississippi Valley.

    1. Ok, 00z EURO looks to be showing similar trends.

Might have some brief periods of “mugginess” (Dps in the 50s and low 60s) the next couple of weeks.

One raw, cold day looks to be tomorrow.

        1. This is actually a pretty fun pattern for spring. A little bit of everything and some interesting transitions to follow. And no real prolonged stretches of weather you hate (east wind for days on end).

          1. I agree with that for sure. I have noticed that.
Better than many Springs, not as good as a few of them.

    1. I saw those. Reminds me of some of the things that used to be pulled from the obs and discussions and posted on the bulletin board in the weather lab at school. 🙂

“COMMENTS (from Trinidad Colorado): SNOW OCNL MIXTURE OF GREAT BIG FLAKES AND LITTLE BIDDY FLAKES”

      Classic.

  4. I’m having some doubts about fully breaking out of things Thursday. The upper low is not really going to be attached to anything and may need to fully decay and open up before it’s not here anymore. Thursday may end up fairly cloudy overall if this is the case. Will leave the forecast as is for now and re-evaluate tonight.

  5. TK, if I may…..mason is going to attempt to begin digging to put in patio tomorrow. Do you have an idea of the extent of periods of rain vs drizzle? And if we do not pull out thursday, cloudy is fine but was wondering about rain ending-ish time!

    Thank you, sir!

    1. I only think Thursday would feature isolated to scattered showers at most. Tomorrow, we could (or should) be wet by mid morning and pretty much stay that way. Not solid heavy rain through. If we’re going to get a period of steady moderate or heavier rain it will likely be Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

  6. JPDave…I should have read your post more carefully regarding adjusting the start and end times of DST and I agree with you completely on that. Back in the day, DST would begin the 3rd week of April and end the last week of October.

Of course, as I stated earlier, if it was left up to me, I would get rid of DST entirely and rely on nature to tell us what time it is. But that is just me, I guess. 😀

    1. Heck, “standard” time worked quite fine for humans for thousands of years before Ben Franklin came along and messed up our internal clocks. 😉

      1. It does mess it up for some folks. Some are bothered way more than others. It find it to be barely noticeable to this old body.

I don’t even have jet lag when flying. My wife takes about a week to re-adjust.

        1. Your wife also hates HHH as much as I do and I have a bad feeling that crap is going to come early and often this time although I don’t know TK’s thoughts on that.

          1. So far I lean that way which is not a popular thought in the meteorological world.

But, my thoughts of a fairly mild winter were not popular last November either. So we’ll see…

              1. My favorite is Harvey Leonard’s (paraphrased) quote: “One should not venture too far out on a limb, or one may not get back…”

  7. If they keep DST it should be shifted slightly. Last weekend of March through middle weekend of September. The rest of the year can be standard time.

Not in favor of shifting New England to Atlantic time. Sorry, Eric Fisher. 😉

And trust me, our bad habits of burying our eyes in electronic devices at all hours has much more of a negative impact on us than adjusting our body clocks by 1 hour twice a year… 😛

      1. Thanks again Dr. S! I can only get the Ch. 5 outlooks from their website. The others only show generic 7-days on their sites. I don’t know why that is.

        1. No problem. I wish I knew why. It would make my life easier if they all did as channel 5 does.
