DAYS 1-5 (APRIL 27-MAY 1)
Quick and easy. Low pressure spins down and dissipates over the region today. A warm front passes through on Friday, followed by a cold front later Saturday. Between the 2 fronts comes a preview of summer. After the cold front passes, cooler high pressure builds across eastern Canada and noses into New England. But Monday, a warm front is again trying to push through the region, returning clouds and unsettled weather.
TODAY: Mostly cloudy. Areas of fog and drizzle early. Highs 55-61 coast, 61-67 interior. Wind light variable.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Lows 50-58. Wind SW up to 10 MPH.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy through early afternoon with a chance of showers, then decreasing clouds . Highs 62-77, coolest South Coast. Wind S 5-15 MPH shifting to SW 10-20 MPH.
SATURDAY: Partly cloudy. Slight chance of late-day shower/thunderstorm. Lows 52-60. Highs 64-80, coolest South Coast.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows 45-52. Highs 55-64, coolest East Coast.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of drizzle or light rain. Lows 45-52. Highs 55-64, coolest coastal areas.
DAYS 6-10 (MAY 2-6)
Episodes of showers, changeable temperatures as several systems pass through.
DAYS 11-15 (MAY 7-11)
Active pattern brings quick changes but no major storms.
Thank you TK!!
TK, thanks…Glad to see the word “sunny” in your forecast (although I had to search for it like a word puzzle!!)!!
Indeed and it certainly was NOT in there for today.
Good morning and thank you TK.
Dismal out there this morning. Let us hope it brightens up a bit later on.
At least it is not raining.
Eric reported monthly totals to date from across the area and had a report of
7+ inches for JP. It was NOT I that reported it. π
Thanks TK !
Thank you, TK.
Some pictures I took today and yesterday of the bridge in Quincy/Weymouth via mounted phone: http://imgur.com/a/IEbCu
Wow – these are terrific. Thanks. Mounted phone??
You can get a dash mount for your phone.
Nice – thanks for the information.
FYI,
Not viewable on my desktop computer (Windows 10).
I had to view via my mobile device.
Fore River Bridge. Shows the fog nicely.
Did you stop in at DQ since you were right there?
Btw, I “believe” this is a temporary bridge? Is that true? If it is NOT, it
is not a very nice design.
Love that DQ! Been stopping there since the 60s! π
Me too. I wonder how many times we were in line at the same time, if ever? π
I NEVER eat ice cream anymore, unless I go by that DQ. I was there in the summers in the 60s and 70s and early 80s weekly, at least. “Small vanilla with chocolate dip, please.”
I don’t eat ice cream very often, but when i do, it is mostly from that DQ. Ice cream is by far my most favorite thing to eat in the entire world. We have HΓ€agen-Dazs at home for my wife, but I don’t touch that. I have weight issues and that is a NO NO. My Dr. just ordered me to drop
20 pounds by October. And that is just a start as I really need to drop 40-50 pounds.
I used to get a special order blizzard when I visited that DQ, Butter Scotch sauce with Marshmellow. Now I get a small vanilla in a dish.
And seriously, if anyone likes blizzards, I HIGHLY recommend
that special blizzard described above.
I like the cherry dip but would also order a small vanilla. I rarely eat ice cream either.
And JPD. I could see on My windows 7 desktop. How odd.
It may be something with the firewall at work. I’m too lazy to check the settings.
Interesting. I was correct. I checked after seeing your post.
That url Dr. Stupid posed is BLOCKED by our firewall
due to an undesireable (for the office) website related to GAMES.
Here is the message:

I can change it temporarily to view it, but I don’t want to or need to since I could see from my smart phone. π
Oh well, I guess even the image of the message does not want to post.
Well that makes sense and I understand why it is blocked.
I grew up going to that dq and spent many nights fishing under the old bridge. I have countless family members who use to work at the shipyard including my grandmother who was a welder there.
It’s a temporary bridge indeed. You can see the permanent bridge they’re building off to the exact side of it in the pictures. It’s taller but still foreboding. lol
Thought so, thanks for the confirmation.
I hated it when we used to be stuck at that bridge with it raised, only to see some small sail boat with a mast just tall enough that the bridge needed to be raised. Of course, once in a while it was an oil tanker.
Thanks.
Thanks TK. Sun breaking out here. 59.5 currently.
Yes, I got a glimpse of a strange yellow orb lurking behind some thinning clouds.
It has brightened up considerably around here. Still complete overcast, but the sun peeks through the thinner spots in the overcast. π
The sun is out here casting FULL shadows at least for a moment. I can actually see
some blue sky here and there. A vast improvement!
We have had that on and off….more off than on.
Blue sky all over now. π
If anyone is interested some people from the National Weather Center in Norman did a Q&A session. Just stumbled upon it and even answered some stuff myself! It was mostly geared towards casual weather questions though there was a little technical discussion in there too.

I stumbled onto a thread about bioweaponry. Wow! Was that scary.
To echo Philip’s comment. Indeed blue sky. It is mostly sunny here.
Was 65 in JP and Car was reading 66.
It is beautiful!
So, now my question is: Is this air mass warming up more quickly than
thought? Will we over achieve high temperatures tomorrow and Saturday?
55 at the airport. Figures! Screw them, the rest of us will enjoy the higher temperatures.
No sun yet here in Walpole. It’s been an extremely depressing 3-day stretch. Being in a 3-day risk management training might have something to do with that too…
I suspect three-day risk management has a whole lot to do with it. Ugh. Hope this is the last of the three days
I think maybe we caught a lucky break in Boston and sat under a hole in the clouds for about 1 1/2 hours.
Seems to be filling in pretty much now. Much cloudiness with the sun peeking out
here and there and still quite bright out.
Sunshine !!!! What a nice surprise !!!
Absolutely glorious day compared to what was advertised.
Wait – what? Sunshine? Not in Sutton BUT temp is warm enough to keep windows open and it looks great to me. I know you’ll all be very excited to know my new couch and chair arrives tomorrow also π
Excellent Vicki !!
ha!! Thanks, Tom. You are beyond kind.
Echo……
I have an idea. Since no one wants to talk about weather, we can talk about my new furniture π π π π
Hmmm. Well then……wanna talk about derby day
No? Ok juggling…let’s talk about juggling. Sorry. Watching Big Bang and I’m getting desperate
Nope.
Fishing?
Red sox?
Sox losing 0-1 in 6th.
Poor Sale. Every stinken time he pitches, the sox couldn’t hit the boston garden if they were standing at the front door. I’d be mega pissed if it were I.
Yay. People are back
7 Day Forecasts from around the dial: http://i.imgur.com/hTxDg5N.jpg
Thanks. Like the background.
Haha. I’ve been slyly using pictures I’ve taken day of as the backgrounds for a while now.
So sly that I focus on the forecast. Very clever
Wow. Awesome and our around the dial just went high tech. Very nice, sir
Quite an impressive line of lightning from James Bay/Nunavut to the Alabama/Georgia state line! (broken up a bit through Virginia and the Carolinas)

Still 61 with 56 DP…..windows still open and has a bit of a summer smell.
Six lose yet again. π
Good morning, everyone!
I guess I am the first one up!
I will put the coffee on for all of you.
One cup or two? I have danishes and croissants, too!
Hefty thunderstorm underway just south of New London, heading northeast.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
Looks like southern areas have a few thunderstorms around!
Very short new post!
