Sunday Forecast

11:28AM

DAYS 1-5 (NOVEMBER 12-16)
Discussion…
The air is warming slowly at the surface and aloft and the warming above us creates some clouds that were abundant at dawn but have decreased since with a bit of drying moving in. But eventually these clouds will win out again by tonight and continue to dominate Monday as a disturbances moves through, igniting a new storm offshore. While that storm will not be close enough to impact this area significantly, during the process we may see some patchy light rain/mix and some higher elevation snow but with no impact. A break between systems Tuesday then the next one, in a little more potent form, arrives from the west at midweek.
Forecast details…
TODAY: Partly sunny. Highs 38-44. Wind light W morning, light S afternoon.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Lows 33-38. Wind light variable.
MONDAY: Cloudy. Chance of light rain at times, may mix with and turn to snow higher elevations north central MA and southwestern NH late. Highs 38-45. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny. Lows from the upper 20s to middle 30s. Highs in the 40s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of light rain late. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 40s.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with rain showers morning. Partly cloudy afternoon. Breezy. Lows from the upper 30s to middle 40s. Highs from the middle 40s to lower 50s.

DAYS 6-10 (NOVEMBER 17-21)
A dry interlude November 17 before the next storm system arrives to bring wet weather (some interior mix?) on November 18 then departs but leaves wind and cold in its wake for November 19-20 before becoming more tranquil but still quite chilly November 21.

DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 21-25)
A blocking pattern develops with high pressure over Greenland and this forces the jet stream to the south. So far it looks like it will not amplify enough for major storminess during this period but something to watch.

  1. Thanks TK! Clouds are winning out here again. About a half hour ago it was completely clear blue with bright sunshine. Oh well.

Also just based on your discussion above, it is looking more and more “below normal” for the month. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Thanks TK. With the sun moving in and out it’s not too bad for a gray November day. Even some blue skies here and there.

  3. Thanks TK.
Looking way out there on 12z GFS taking with huge grain of salt offshore storm grazes Cape and Islands with some snow Saturday Thanksgiving weekend.

    1. would deff be different than the last few Saturdays after thanksgiving, the last few years I been in a t-shirt while decorating for Christmas

      1. Let’s hope we have a white Christmas for a change, but not really ready for a white Thanksgiving though.

        1. 11 days away I can say we probably won’t have a widespread white Thanksgiving but it’s certainly possible that places will see white on the ground between now & then. Also, a below normal temperature month is more likely, but still not a lock.

    2. Every run’s been different and I expect that to continue. But the idea is we have to watch that week as we’ll be in a block.

  4. I have been on the golf course the last few years on Thanksgiving weekend. December 2015 golfing Christmas weekend.

      1. unfortunately no ๐Ÿ™ I made plans before I knew it was opening, and I do not think she would of been happy if I decided not to go to her place for the pats game after not going during the last game.

  5. Thanks as always, TK…
Vicki, said a prayer for you and your family this weekend.

Good news! The Middleboro Sachems overcame a bitter Mattapoisett windchill and a tough Old Rochester team to win the Division 6 South championship!!!

TK, you were named MVM…Most Valuable Meteorologist for the game for the spot-on forecast for the championship game. It is a handsome trophy with an anemometer on top of it.
Sachems play for the Division 6 EMass title Friday night against the Stoneham Spartans at Woburn High. The winner of that game goes to Gillette Stadium on December 2.
Patriots are almost on. Always a tough time in Denver.
    Go Pats! Good night, everyone!

    1. Thank you, Captain. I’m sitting here just smiling

All three kids and six grands were here for brunch and then dinner. The kids had asked to write messages on balloons and send them to papa so we did. I know it might not be perfect for environment but …..

        1. Thank you!! It amazes me how much even the Grands…all 10 and under….want to be a big part of celebrating and remembering Mac.

    2. Woburn won a placement playoff game against Waltham 21-20 on Thursday. Luckily they got to play a much “milder” night.

We have played Stoneham many times but they didn’t want to play us anymore because we beat them pretty much every time, so that rivalry ended when they realigned the leagues. So I have no idea what kind of team they have this season.

I can see Woburn High from my house. I may wander down there for some of that game. ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. There will likely be a storm next weekend. Early call is rain for a good portion of Saturday, lots of wind/cold Sunday.

At several days away, there is time for adjustment.

  6. Pats brought the Weeks 1-4 squad today. Offense sharp, but defense being gashed. Lucky that Denver has had to settle for a few field goals. Special teams has been huge too. Much more competitive game than the score shows, with plenty of time left.

  7. Defense has been pretty bad all night. Too many big plays given up, canโ€™t get off the field on 3rd down, and butler has been horrendous. Theyโ€™ve been effective in the red zone to hold Denver to field goals. If Denver had a QB, different game. Not sure they can clean that up. By week 10, they are what they are.
Meanwhile special teams and the offfense look in mid season form. Only criticism is the red zone offense was a little weak in the 1st half, but looks like they might have that figured out.

    1. Waddle has done a nice job holding off Miller. Had some help, but Miler hasnโ€™t been as much of a factor.

    2. Mid way through 4th quarter and you’ve held Denver to 16 at home. I’d say that’s a pretty decent defensive performance overall.

      1. ๐Ÿ™‚

And to open pandoras box fully…when the Denver fans booed there own team, I thought…hmmm we are not only ones with fair weather fans.

        1. HAHAHA!!

          They’re pretty much everywhere.

I can’t say I’m surprised by how many negative posts I’m seeing about this game from Pats fans.

They’re up 41-16 IN Denver and they’re not playing a good game? I realize this is not the Denver team of the past, but that is not an easy place to play any time. The fans that are finding that many things wrong are NOT watching the game. They’re just spewing b.s. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Strong close from the Pats after Denver scored to open the half. Not much at all to dislike on offense or special teams. Gilmore good in his return which is promising. Poor game from Butler, but he had a tough job. I think we know now that this defense will never be great, but it did enough. Itโ€™s a win, and one of their better of the season. 7-2.

  9. pats game was good, I still hate Gilmore but at least he is a bit better than he was before the injury. Now only if they got rid of Eric Rowe, and give that money to Butler

  10. Celtics 12th straight! ๐Ÿ˜€

I don’t recall them with this type of streak even back in the 1980s when Bird & company.

    1. Impressive team. And yet I heard people saying how much they sucked and how bad this year was going to be after the first 2 games, both losses but not blow-outs.
