Sunday Forecast

8:27AM

DAYS 1-5 (APRIL 22-26)
This update is similar to yesterday’s but one change it to slow the timing of the onset of the wet weather and confine it more to midweek. Forecast update…
TODAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 52-58 coast, 58-64 interior. Wind N up to 10 MPH with coastal sea breezes.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 33-40. Wind light variable.
MONDAY: Sunny. Highs 53-59 coast, 59-65 interior. Wind light variable with coastal sea breezes.
MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 36-43. Wind light variable.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs 55-62 coast, 63-70 interior, but cooler especially coast afternoon. Wind light S to SE.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy. Rain likely. Lows from the middle to upper 40s. Highs from the lower to middle 50s.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy. Occasional rain showers. Lows from the middle 40s to lower 50s. Highs from the middle to upper 50s.

DAYS 6-10 (APRIL 27-MAY 1)
A frontal system brings a rain shower threat late Friday, and a trough brings a few additional showers then a shot of very cool air over the April 28-29 weekend before it recovers and warms a bit April 30 and May 1 with fair weather.

DAYS 11-15 (MAY 2-6)
With low confidence I will call for a progressive pattern for this period with a fair, warmer May 2-3, then a cooling trend with potential unsettled weather after that.

        1. Speak for yourself Vicki. I’m indoors at work, but I did manage to go outside briefly earlier for a quick coffee. 🙂

A bit breezy, but a very nice day indeed! 🙂

          1. I’m inside as well. Actually doing work work.
Looks nice out, even though I have not been out. 😀

            1. Ugh. Sorry you two. I’m on my last day of a weeks vacation where is worked part of each day so know how it feels.

  1. I hope the Celtics can stop the weekend bleeding. Although I do believe the Revs came back to tie their game to salvage. One point is better than none.

Having said that, I still wish the game of soccer in general had more offense. First goal wins! 😉

    1. I could never get into soccer and will never get into it. Just foreign to me.
I know how big it is in other parts of the world. Just doesn’t do a thing for me.
Perhaps if I grew up with it, I would feel differently.

      1. I remember back in the 1970’s in the NASL when Pele played for the New York Cosmos and the local New England Tea Men played at Foxboro. Contests of 5-3 for example were just as common as those boring 1-0 events. Perhaps the rules weren’t as strict and promoted more scoring? Not sure but that particular league seemed much more fun to me at times.

  2. Today is the first day I’ve actually been able to get outside and clean up the yard. Lots to do, so little time. Gorgeous day 🙂

  3. The Celtics clearly cannot handle the Bucks on the road. Hopefully this is the trend of a “home court” series. A bummer of a weekend for the local teams. 🙁

    1. At the record the Red Sox have, being no-hit yesterday was no big deal. We got to witness an outstanding pitching performance. Fans will have to get used to the Sox having a less torrid pace than they’ve had since the start of the season. They’ll win alot, but it won’t be at this percentage all season.

Celts can advance if they take care of business at home, which is typical of the NBA. I like the team. I’m not really a basketball fan but I’d be happy if they got to the 2nd round. Anything after that: ice cream.

Bruins are still up 3-2 in the series. I’m not worried about them. They’ll get it fixed before this is over and it will be the Leafs scheduling tee times while the Bruins are prepping for Round 2.

        1. That hasn’t hurt them too much this season. They gave up a ton of first goals and won most of those games. 🙂

          1. That may be true, but as most sports analysts say that the playoffs are a totally different season and to throw away all those regular season stats.

I would rather a game decided on a stupid refs call late then “who scores first/last/this/that” etc.

  4. If the Bruins advance I believe they will play the Lightning which should be a very good series.

  5. Wow! I see the Celtics only lost by two. I didin’t see the game but they had better get out of the habit of trailing by a lot. That was a big issue during the regular season. It just makes it that much harder to win a game even if it ends up resulting in one.

  6. Six degrees warmer in Sutton than at my sister in laws south of Atlanta

Fire pit uncovered and a fire burning

    1. I’ve decided I need a grate in my fire pit. It is too deep and tends to not allow air in enough to keep flame going and smoke down. Anyone use a grate in theirs

  7. Thank you, TK.

Went up north and because of Mark’s pictures I was not surprised to see quite a bit of snow in places like Grantham, NH. Mountain peaks in Vermont and NH have incredible amounts of snow for this time of year. This said, in the valley today felt more like spring. The folks in Vermont seemed to be concur.

Sox lost 2 out of 3 to a good Oakland A’s team, and a very decent manager (who out managed Cora today; I have no idea why Price was left in the game to face Davis, and I commend Melvin for bringing in the closer in the 8th inning). Oakland will be competitive. They have excellent hitting, good pitching and a superb closer.

I’m concerned about the Bruins. Defensive lapses and poor goal-tending are not a good recipe against a supremely opportunistic team, with an excellent coach. Combine this with poor shooting – right at Andersson – and it’s not a surprise that this series returns to Toronto where I think the Leafs will win. Game 7 is a crapshoot.

Celtics put up a good effort today, and I admire their grit. But, I don’t see them beating the Bucks. In fact, I think it’s Bucks in 6.

  8. Red Sox were not going to keep up the pace they were on all season. At the end of the day they still have the best record in baseball. Now lets see how they respond going to Toronto for three.

  9. What a beautiful day today! Felt great to be outside without any sort of jacket. Once again most locations near the top of or a little above the expected temperatures. Rinse and repeat tomorrow, and we’ll be a little warmer than today.

Barring a backdoor surprise, starting to see stronger indications for a couple of potentially warm to very warm days around 5/1-5/4. We’ll have an unsettled last 6 days of April before then, although Thursday and/or Friday could be sneaky nice days.
