Thursday Forecast

7:36AM

DAYS 1-5 (JULY 12-16)
Due to time constraints this morning this is essentially yesterday’s blog, slightly updated, but well, there are no changes to the forecast anyway.
TODAY: Sunny to partly cloudy. Slight risk of an isolated shower southeastern NH and eastern MA in the afternoon. Highs 75-80 coast, 80-85 interior. Wind light variable with sea breezes.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 56-64. Wind light S to SW.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 78-83 South Coast, 83-88 elsewhere. Wind SW to W 5-15 MPH.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Lows in the 60s. Highs from the lower 80s to around 90, coolest coastal areas.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows in the 60s. Highs from the middle 80s to lower 90s.

DAYS 6-10 (JULY 17-21)
A front will push through the region with higher humidity and a shower/thunderstorm threat July 17 into July 18 before slightly cooler and drier air arrives by July 19 but may be short lived as warm air tries to make a come back by the end of the period, possibly with some unsettled weather during the process.

DAYS 11-15 (JULY 22-26)
A little uncertainty on the exact evolution of the pattern as we will see the pattern of ridge western US, broad trough eastern Canada to Great Lakes and New England trying to hold on while high pressure also tries to build off the US East Coast. Best way to describe resulting weather would be changeable, warm and humid overall, and a few opportunities for showers and thunderstorms. Will fine-tune going forward.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK.
DP finally has come down as it was 52 this morning at my house.

  2. Out and about …..

I’m pretty sure I just heard SAK giving the weather on 102.3 FM, the legends in southwest Maine.

If so, he gets an A+ for forecasting continued great weather. 🙂

    1. Now, that is pretty cool. I presume TK can confirm for us.

Are you still headed to Ogunquit?

Or did you decide to forego that side trip?

      1. My wife and kids didn’t want to go to ocean today, so …. we haven’t gotten to Ogunquit yet. Perhaps tomorrow, but I won’t want to go on the weekend. We are back in this general area in mid August for a few days, so I will go then if tomorrow doesn’t work out.

Good radio presentation. Nice flow, easy to understand.

    1. From the remains of Beryl of all things.

An area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms associated with
the remnants of Beryl is located about midway between the Bahamas
and Bermuda. Little or no development is expected through Friday
while the system moves northeastward. However, environmental
conditions could become a little more favorable over the weekend
when the disturbance will be moving northward over the warm waters
of the western Atlantic and interacting with a strong upper-level
      trough

  3. Thank you, TK!

Pretty impressive sustained winds from Chris in the Canadian Maritimes. The storm meandered, well, it spun in loops, for a long time before being catapulted in a northeasterly direction. It’ll be near St. John’s, Newfoundland by later today. They’ve had a terrible summer, by the way. Snow in early June, followed by long periods of cool to even cold weather and lots of rain. At least it’s warmer there now (upper 60s and low 70s).

  4. In Kennebunk, Me.

We have submitted an application for this day to be listed among the most beautiful in history. 🙂

    1. It’s certainly right up there. Just came in from lunch and I was thinking
it was about the umpteenth perfect 10 day since Winter ended!

  5. That was SAK and he’s been doing radio for a long time, many stations in many locations. He does a fabulous job!

  6. Irony: I hadn’t looked at worldwide tropical activity yet today, only know that Chris was no more, but SAK just pointed out to me that there are currently ZERO tropical cyclones in the entire world. Not too often you see that at this time of year.

  7. I just watched what had to be one of the most unusual innings in Red Sox baseball. It would take too many sentences to explain. In the end, the Sox started the inning down 2-0 and ended coming out of it up 5-2. Mookie!!

    1. That was absolutely awesome! Extraordinary seasons have their extraordinary moments! That was one!!!
