DAYS 1-5 (SEPTEMBER 21-25)
Same story, high pressure in control, and our warm-up will really be felt this weekend and Monday. Humidity will be low this weekend but will come up somewhat Monday as a stronger southwesterly air flow arrives. High pressure gives way to a cold front that crosses the region in the early hours of Tuesday followed by a small upper level low Tuesday, which will bring cooler air from Canada. High pressure moves back into control by Wednesday but with its center northwest of New England we’ll still be in a cooler northerly air flow.
Forecast details…
TODAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 76-83. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 56-63. Wind SW up to 10 MPH.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 79-86. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 58-65. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 78-85. Wind SW 10-20 MPH.
MONDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy. Chance of a passing shower. Lows 60-67. Wind SW 5-15 MPH shifting to NW.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny. Highs 68-75. Wind NW 10-20 MPH.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Clearing. Lows 45-52. Wind N 5-15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 70-77. Wind N 5-15 MPH.
DAYS 6-10 (SEPTEMBER 26-30)
A very similar pattern to days 1-5, warming up early in the period, a cold front sliding through with maybe a shower sometime later September 27 or early September 28, then slightly cooler.
DAYS 11-15 (OCTOBER 1-5)
October picks up where September leaves off with an up and down temperature but dry weather pattern as large scale high pressure ridging is dominant, the center of which will probably remain in the east central US with some oscillation, which will eventually help determine daily temperatures and the allowance of any fronts to pass through.
Thanks TK !
Thanks TK
Thanks TK.
Thanks TK.
According to Barry, 90 F on Monday. I hope that will be the last one for the year.
It won’t feel like mid summer, trust me. Sun angle is too low now.
Good morning and thank you TK.
What a beautiful stretch of weather!!
Removed one AC yesterday. The other 2 will stay until at least this latest
warm up passes.
As for AB, I thought I heard on the radio this morning that by the Patriots dumping him now, they wonβt have to pay him $9 million for the season. Is that correct?
yes
Thanks JPD. Definitely a good move yesterday.
Language in the contract that gave the Pats an out in the event that Ab screwed up.
If you have time to read, this is a great blog about our current weather and possible future events.
http://www.stormhamster.com/entry2/e092019.htm
Those blogs are entertaining but correctly informative. A PRACTICAL and not sensational look at the weather, for a change. This reminds me of my first boss and mentor in the private company that hired me right out of college (actually during college as a tech). I’m glad he’s not afraid to call out the bad methods and uninformed sources of information. THIS IS NEEDED! It’s a disgrace to the profession that I worked my ass off to earn a degree in and worked my ass off since to gain experience in. I speak for many others in my position. I will stand up for that and fight for it because it’s the right thing to do.
The way he ends it is classic, and sadly necessary.
TK, do you know who this is? He moved to Plymouth seveveal years ago from the mid Atlantic.
Thanks TK
This day in weather history the Hurricane of 1938.
Just awful. Lots of stories from my mom on that one.
You have a knack for local historical weather data. Thanks Jimmy. π
Assume that was for JJ and he sure does. I love that you remind us, JJ
Thanks, TK.
Thanks, TK, and Happy Weekend, mis amigos…
Thanks, JJ, for remembering the Hurricane of ’38. A dear friend of mine gave a
commemorative booklet published by the Fall River Herald right after the storm with dozens of photos of the aftermath. Horseneck Beach in Westport and all of the beach houses there were practically wiped off the map. If I can, I will scan a few of the photos and post to imgur sometime soon.
If you have Channel 10 (WJAR) in Providence, I believe there is a special on the 1938 tomorrow at noon or 12:30.
And, folks, do you remember the 21st night of September?????

Never was a cloudy day…
Ba duda, ba duda, ba duda, badu!!!!!! π
EW&F are on my playlist for tonight’s driving, of course. I have a huge musical line-up today…
Started early morning (pre-dawn) with The Motels, followed by Little River Band, and I have moved to 4 Swing Out Sister albums in honor of Corrine Drewery’s 60th birthday today! After this, Wang Chung, then No Doubt, then 3 Pete Yorn albums. If you have not heard Pete Yorn, check him out! A lot of this music will be while I am on the road to Hampton Beach and back later, then to Billerica (fireworks) followed by Acton later this evening.
What is Billerica celebrating with fireworks tonight? Just curious.
And Acton also.
No fireworks in Acton, just visiting a friend there. Billerica is doing its annual Yankee Homecoming weekend. The fireworks are tonight and is by a pyro company (Ocean State Pyrotechnics) that I don’t get to see many shows from . This is basically the only one in my pyro tour each year. It’s pretty wild and very loud. My style! I will be front row on the fence which nobody can venture beyond. π
Enjoy! π
Thanks π
Going to enjoy a last walk of the summer on the beach at Hampton before that. Although I visit Hampton at least once per month now through the year so there will be “off-season” walks too. π
Thanks TK!
Iβm on my way home from Norman, OK today. Iβve been at the National Weather Center here all week for my NWS radar training. It was awesome! I spent most of the week in a simulator type setting, going through past high impact severe weather and flash flood events and making warning decisions in real time. Great learning experience. Canβt wait to apply that knowledge for real in severe weather operations.
What a great experience. I am sure you will put that training to good use.
Well done!
This is absolutely amazing. What a great experience.
Excellent. I am sure you will make valuable use of what you have learned!
Not sure if you know or if I even mentioned that the SNE Weather Conference is taking a year off and returning in 2020.
I think I remember you mentioning that. I actually have an abstract submitted for AMS in January, so if it goes through and I donβt run into any administrative issues Iβm hoping to be up in Boston for that.
Up to 82 in good ole JP.
Same temp at good ole Logan. π
Up to 83 and that is the MAX for the day so far, anway.
87 in Sutton and kids are playing in the sprinklers

Well, OS, season 4 episode 10 Heartland Christmas may be one of the loveliest Christmas shows I recall. And then of course they had hallelujah play at the end which is one of the songs that makes us think most of Mac….so ill be awake for a while.
New post!
