DAYS 1-5 (OCTOBER 22-26)
Marine air paints today grey, and an approaching trough and associated warm front / cold front combo makes tonight and early Wednesday wet, but a drying westerly air flow brings bright weather back during the day Wednesday from west to east and sets up some nice weather for Thursday, the pick of the week, as high pressure moves in. The next trough brings cloudiness back on Friday, and eventually a wet weather threat by late-day or night, which may linger into Saturday before drier, cool air arrives from the north.
Forecast details…
TODAY: Mostly cloudy. Highs 53-60. Wind E 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Rain showers likely. Lows 45-52. Wind SE to S 10-20 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy early with rain showers possible, then mostly sunny. Highs 58-65. Wind W 10-20 MPH, higher gusts.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 40-47. Wind W 10-20 MPH evening, diminishing overnight.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 57-64. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 42-49. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
FRIDAY: Increasing clouds. Late-day rain showers possible. Highs 57-64. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Cloudy. Rain showers likely. Lows 48-55. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with rain possible morning. Clearing afternoon. Highs 52-59. Wind N 5-15 MPH.
DAYS 6-10 (OCTOBER 27-31)
High pressure should bring fair weather October 27. The October 28-31 period is uncertain as a boundary may be nearby but playing it cooler than average to start with a risk of some unsettled weather from a disturbance to start the period, then somewhat drier with a gradual temperature moderation. this is a very low confidence forecast at this time.
DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 1-5)
Low confidence here as well. Have to determine the strength and staying power of high pressure off the Atlantic Coast and an approaching trough digging into the Midwest. One or two opportunities for wet weather may present themselves, though they don’t look significant this far out, and it may start mild then trend cooler.
Thank you TK!

TK thank you and it is grey out as you said.
Thanks TK !
Good morning and thank you TK.
Instead of Gloomy Monday, we have Gloomy Tuesday.
BORING……………………….
Give me some weather please, and yes I know we have weather today, just
not the weather I desire. đ
Thanks, TK
Vicki…
I am about a week late with this reply, but I have not heard of any communities down here postponing Halloween next Thursday night. The EEE alerts are still up and enforced. The last two Middleboro varsity football games were moved from Friday Night Lights to Saturday afternoons. Earlier in the fall, we were playing 4 pm Friday afternoon games, but now, sunset is before 6 pm and the games would not finish in time.
I think there are a few towns that have moved Trick or Treating to 4-6:30.
I am not sure how you regulate Halloween. A killing frost or two between now and then would make all of this a moot point. Like yours, my impatiens are still thriving!
Thanks TK.
Gorgeous shot taken yesterday of the front range of the Rockies with some cumulus clouds over the snow capped mountain tops and then “standing waveform clouds” above that.

134 year record broken at Blue Hills during the storm last week for quickest pressure drop and lowest pressure in October…

6z GFS still showing a cold surge incoming for Halloween and trying to conjure up a little off shore coastal storm at the same time to boot. That would be interesting if things came together though probably pretty unlikely.

Will see what 12z has to offer….
cool, but dry on 12z
Re: Halloween in the area, 2019…
A quick search and I have seen that Framingham (banned all together) and Methuen (Oct.31 from 4:30-6 pm), about three weeks ago, voted to move or cancel trick or treating on Halloween because of EEE.
I found this on “framinghamforward.com” (not sure how legit it is) from three weeks ago:
If a cancellation is issued, you wonât see martial law on the street, for one, the six officers on patrol at any given time just wonât have the manpower; however racing through the Framingham Department of Health is an ordinance to allow fines to be issued if candy distribution is witnessed. It has been suggested that this ordinance will allow fines up to $100. The full ordinance may be voted on at an emergency Board of Health meeting which if needed will occur on October 24th.
Stupid if you ask me. All kids have to do is wear long sleeves and pants underneath their costumes or whatever. The days of intense heat have been long over. I would think itâs been at least near 35F by now in Framingham and much of the mosquito population shouldnât be all that active anymore.
Stupid leave Halloween alone .
One of the individuals who died from EEE had all of that and was covered with deet
We have more mosquitoes now than we had all summer.
Thanks captain. I think moving to an earlier time is smart. I am not sure there is much a town can do when it is an event not on town property.
If I had my way we would eliminate Halloween all together. I am not a fan at all of this silly holiday and never have been.
I always enjoyed it and my oldest grand loves it but I do get what you mean
Wow sue Iâm surprised . Halloween is a huge day & always was & will hopefully always be
But it is all right for folks to feel differently.
Absolutely agree
Still leaning toward a very mild October 31.
More of the same. Only this year I wonât be able to sit outside. Talk about a nasty trick.
A lot of the country may be very cold, but we may be just on the wrong side of things.
AS USUAL!
Thanks TK. I didnât realize until a while ago that I had yet to be here
I haven’t seen a skeeter around my area in 6 weeks now, but when I was at Six Flags on Saturday night, there were quite a few down by the river. So some areas are still dealing with quite a few.
I’ll be on the lookout for that first freeze. I see a couple opportunities but things have to line up just right.
Oddly, I didnât see one all summer and you know Iâm out a lot. But they are out now. I donât know if Woburn in in a risk area. We are in a high risk area.
Interesting that our warm-ups never have to line up âjust rightâ. đ
Say that again in the spring. đ
Chiming in on Halloween .. eh, I wasn’t really going to comment but I have kind of a love/hate relationship with it. I guess I don’t hate it at all, but I think perhaps sometimes I feel like the adults kind of took over the concept of the celebration that was meant for kids. And yes I do know the roots of the event, very old and not quite about kids… For some it’s become more about partying than anything. I used to love going out as a kid door to door, etc, and I think my favorite part of it is the annual parade my city has (pretty large parade, takes nearly 2 hours to pass one point).
I do really love the fact that I am now (for the 2nd year this year) helping someone I am very close to take her non verbal autistic son trick or treating. Last year was his first time and he had a wonderful time. That was actually the first time I have ever been out of my home town on Halloween evening.
I do like the overall feeling the late part of October / Halloween gives. For me it’s more about marking the passage from mid autumn into later autumn. đ
yep Pretty much sums up how I feel. It isnât one of the major holidays. And between kids and grandkids, it was so so. But now I love watching the grandkids. And this year is the first for my great nephew…..whose grandpa I trick or treated with my entire youth.
But I fully understand how others do not feel the same. There is also a sadness for me. My youth trick or treating partner passed away two days after Halloween. My best friend in the world…..11 days after. So it is one of those bittersweet holidays where I work hard to remember how blessed I am to have such special memories
See what happens when you open Pandoraâs box đ
It’s always difficult when people you care about are lost but when it is associated with a holiday or event it adds to it. đ
New post!
