Thursday Forecast

7:16AM

DAYS 1-5 (OCTOBER 24-28)
High pressure brings a great October day today. This high gives way to an approaching frontal boundary which will bring clouds in during Friday and a little wet weather at night, but this gets out of here by Saturday as another high pressure area moves in with nice weather again. The next low pressure system heads west of New England Sunday but upper winds will be transporting some of its moisture eastward while dry air tries to kill the system at the same time, meaning Sunday ends up mainly cloudy but leaving the question as to how wet it will get. What looks like plentiful rain on some guidance now may not turn out to be much during the day, and we may have to wait for a stronger frontal boundary at night to produce the most rainfall. Low pressure, although weak, redeveloping just offshore may hold clouds and some wet weather in here on Monday.

  1. Sure hope Sunday is dry I need to finalize everything by Friday afternoon so hope the guidance will be clearer at that time .

  2. Thank you, TK.

    Beautiful day outside.

However, mosquitoes are still around. We need a killing frost.

My work travels in the coming two weeks take me to DC where I can revisit the foliage that we’ve been having and then Montreal where undoubtedly a killing frost will have taken place.

  3. Good morning and thank you TK.
A mere 39 at my house this morning. No biggie.

Let’s hope the rain holds off until the Pat’s game has completed.

Indicative of how mild it has been, the ocean temperature as measured at
Boston Buoy, 16 NM East of Boston is:

    Current: 56.48 F
    Average: 53.82 F
    Departure: 2.66 F

Constantly watching this as I always do,

I have not yet added in the 2018 numbers to my averages, but this can’t be off much at all.

  4. Thanks TK !

I wonder if the Sunday system is grabbing some of the atmospheric moisture from the entity in the Bay of Campeche to enhance rainfall potential or if the 2 systems remain separate ????

    1. That’s horrible I can’t even imagine . What town was it I didn’t hear anything

      1. Not on the news yet. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble and not sure how HIPAA works so just keep abreast to the news. It was quick. The danger is still very real.

  5. The system in the Bay of Campeche is getting its act together, quickly, in my opinion.

May be a tropical depression or could jump straight to a tropical storm.

      1. Mostly a mid latitude cyclone but I think it might get infused with some additional atmospheric moisture.

    1. Horrible news, indeed.

If ever we needed a killing frost it’s now. This outbreak of triple E is the worst by far, at least that I can recall.

As noted, I saw two mosquitoes yesterday. I also saw several yellow jackets. They’re all moving slower than they normally do, but they’re still there. I’m allergic to bee stings, so I’m always cautious.

    1. Depends on the pattern. Sometimes it’s quite opposite.

Keep in mind the Texas is very big and also vulnerable to unmodified cold air from the north. We sit next to an ocean that is only two and a half months off its warmest temperatures.
