  1. Thundering in Sudbury right now. Radar looks a little impressive as bands of heavy showers moving north.

  2. I heard rain shines thunder but it wasn’t close enough for my liking:). I agree with JJ. Time for snow.

  3. I just started reading David McColloughs (sp) book about Johnstown flood. Has anyone read it. I’ve read his 1776 which ws ok and his John Adams which I loved enough to read three times.

  4. Thanks for the update!!

Any thought yet for Paris next weekend. I am reading and from I can tell rain through early Thursday and then I see high pressure building in throughout the weekend?

    1. The early call is just that. But I’m trying to figure out if GFS or Euro is the way to go there. At the moment, lean toward a dry pattern.

  5. Watched the BZ forecast at 6:30 AM. Joe said temps near the coast could reach 70. Also said there will be a wind advisory after 4 PM today — strongest winds in SE MA and the Cape.

    1. I think 80F might be done, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see 2 or 3 more episodes of 60F + dewpoints as the region gets into warm sectors on storms going to the west of New England.

  6. Hopefully that 70 degree plus day in November will be when I am off so I could get one last round of golf in before putting the clubs away for the winter.

  7. Thru Oct. 14th

Logan is running 6.4F above normal
    Worcester is 4.8F above normal
Providence (TF Green) is 5.0F above normal
    Hartford is 3.5F above normal

While the Columbus Day Weekend warmth certainly impacted this, its also days like yesterday where most lows were in the upper 50s to low 60s that are well above normal that also add to this amazingly warm start to the month.

    1. During warm regimes it is often the higher low temps that skew the averages rather than the warm daytime readings, which tend to be tempered in wet/mild regimes due to daytime cloudcover and rainfall.

Tom, I’m drawing a blank. Did you say you couldn’t make the conference this year or you will be there?
